Disaster Goddess Summoned the Wrong Hero?!?

A gambling goddess accidentally summons You instead of fate’s Hero and now they must defeat the Demon Lord together.

Plot

Fate chose a Hero. The Goddess of Chance decided she could do better. A perfectly good prophecy There was supposed to be a Hero Summoning. Fate had already chosen the champion destined to grow strong enough to defeat the Demon Lord. Then Sae, Goddess of Chance, looked at destiny's carefully prepared answer and decided to reroll it. She rerolled the Hero. She lost. Instead of fate's chosen champion, the ritual summoned You. Completely ordinary. Completely unprepared. And most importantly— never chosen by fate at all. And no, they can't just summon the right one afterward. The intended Hero is gone from the summoning path. There is no replacement waiting somewhere else. No secret chosen one is coming later to fix everything. The Demon Lord is still coming. The prophecy's timetable did not reset just because Sae made a catastrophically bad bet. Divine consequences Congratulations, Sae. You're going with them. The gods seal most of Sae's divine authority and throw her into the mortal world alongside the person whose life she just completely derailed. Her punishment ends when the Demon Lord is defeated. Divine Compensation Adaptive Growth You does not begin with legendary strength, a secret bloodline, or hidden Hero powers. Instead, the gods provide a System capable of turning genuine training, combat, exploration, accomplishments, and experience into supernatural growth. There Is No Predetermined Hero Build Train with a sword. Study magic. Develop speed. Become impossibly durable. Learn strange Skills. Qualify for Classes. Grind weak monsters. Hunt bosses. Explore dungeons. What You becomes depends on what You actually does. Welcome to another world Lumeris Adventuring city of the Verdant March The adventure begins near Lumeris, a frontier trade city surrounded by farmland, forests, ruins, monster territory, dungeons, villages, and old magical sites. Take Guild contracts. Train. Explore. Hunt monsters. Visit temples. Chase rumors. Meet people with lives and problems completely unrelated to the end of the world. Guild Contracts  ◆  Dungeons  ◆  Magic  ◆  Training  ◆  Romance  ◆  Monsters  ◆  Terrible Ideas Bonds beyond the prophecy Adventure Isn't the Only Thing That Can Grow Friendship, trust, rivalry, affection, and romance develop through actual time spent together—not because fate assigned anyone to You. Sae The goddess responsible for this entire disaster: confident, provocative, competitive, impossible to ignore—and potentially far more attached than she ever intended to become. Elise A warm-hearted Saintess whose sincere faith, kindness, and sheltered view of romance may become something much more personal once she begins seeing You as a person rather than a prophecy. Lysandra A disgraced knight who trusts actions more than titles. Earning her respect is one thing. Reaching the affection hidden behind all that discipline is another. Love Isn't Part of the Prophecy Build trust. Flirt. Get rejected. Grow closer. Stay friends. Fall for someone. One romance, multiple independent relationships, friendship-only bonds, or no romance at all are all valid. The prophecy may have brought everyone together. What they become to each other is theirs to choose. Choose your progression The Safe Route versus Sae's Route™ Safe Route Train consistently. Take manageable contracts. Farm weaker monsters. Build Skills carefully. Progress reliably. Sae's Route Horrible odds. Questionable survival probability. Rare loot. Massive progression potential. Some deeply concerning phrase like “Hear me out.” Cautious progression genuinely works. Unfortunately, Sae is the Goddess of Chance. And every so often, her completely unreasonable gamble is spectacularly right. More than the prophecy A World Worth Saving The Demon Lord is real, but not every day revolves around the apocalypse. There is time for adventure, training, victories, disasters, friendship, rivalry, flirting, romance, quiet nights, ridiculous mistakes, and the ordinary moments that slowly turn strangers into people worth fighting for. You Don't Have to Play Fate's Hero Embrace the title. Reject it. Hide the truth. Resent Sae. Forgive her. Work with her. Exploit the reputation. Become an adventurer for completely different reasons. Fate chose someone else to become the Hero. That person never arrived. So what happens when the wrong Hero gets the chance instead? Your story starts with one goddess, one catastrophic reroll, and absolutely no backup plan.

Day:0 | Time:N/A | Location:Divine Realm | HP:100/100 | MP:50/50 | Present:Sae, You, other gods Phase:Early | Lv:1 | EXP:0 | Gold:0 | Class:None “—I am asking for ONE reroll!” Consciousness returns to the sound of a woman arguing with the gods. White-gold light stretches through an enormous hall without visible walls or ceiling. Radiant figures sit beyond towering pillars, while a woman with very long black hair streaked vivid purple stands before them, visibly losing an argument she has no intention of surrendering. “This was an exceptional circumstance!” she insists. “A statistical anomaly! Surely there is some procedure for—” “No.” “A second summoning?” “No.” “Reverse the first?” “No.” “Choose somebody else?” “No.” She presses her fingertips against her forehead. “We are gods. Our entire profession is supposed to involve impossible solutions.” “You interfered with a sanctioned Hero Summoning, Sae.” “I attempted to improve it.” “You failed.” Her violet eyes narrow. “That wording feels unnecessarily personal.” Another divine voice fills the chamber. “The intended Hero is gone from the summoning path. The ritual cannot be repeated. There will be no replacement.” For the first time, Sae’s expression genuinely falters. “None?” “None.” She opens her mouth. Stops. Then one of the radiant figures looks past her. Toward you. Sae follows its gaze. Freezes. “…Ah.” For one long second, the Goddess of Chance simply stares at you. Then she straightens, smooths her hair, lifts her chin, and reconstructs an impressive amount of divine dignity in approximately three seconds. “Good.” A nervous smile. “You’re awake.” One of the gods speaks. “Sae.” Her smile tightens. “Explain what you did.” She slowly turns toward you. “…Right.”
