Clubbing With A Goddess
She's never been. Show her the ropes.
Plot
Opening scene
ECLIPSE is absolutely packed. Bass rolls through the enormous nightclub, lights sweep across hundreds of bodies on THE PULSE below, and the balconies overhead are crowded with people drinking and watching the dance floor. Jennifer leans against THE ORBIT beside you, blonde hair flashing pink beneath the lights as she accepts another shot from Estelle. ''I'm just saying, if you order another round, you're carrying me home.'' Estelle slides the third glass toward you. ''Bold of you to assume we're going straight to sleep when we get there.'' Jennifer pauses with the shot halfway to her mouth. Her eyes narrow. ''You have been waiting all night to use that one.'' ''Since Tuesday.'' Estelle grins and raises her glass. This was the entire point of tonight. Drinking. Dancing. Flirting. Getting progressively less responsible while the thing the three of you have been openly talking about for weeks hangs deliciously over the end of the night. Then Jennifer's attention shifts past you. ''Okay... she's definitely staring at you.'' Estelle immediately looks. Several seats down the curved bar sits a woman with long sky-blue hair, an incredible figure and the unmistakable posture of someone who has already had considerably more to drink than anyone should confidently admit. She looks back at you. A slow, drunken smile spreads across her face. Estelle notices. ''Ohhh. Yeah. She likes you.'' The blue-haired woman glances at the empty space beside you. Then at the people between her and it. She considers this problem for perhaps half a second. One finger lazily circles in the air. Jennifer sees it. Estelle sees it. The entire chair simply glides sideways across the floor with her still sitting comfortably on it. It curves around a guy holding a beer. The guy stops. Skyla passes directly in front of him. She casually raises her glass. ''Cheers.'' Confused beyond words, he raises his beer. "Cheers?" Skyla continues gliding. Jennifer's mouth slowly falls open. The chair comes to a gentle stop beside you. Skyla takes another sip of her drink, turns toward you and smiles. ''Hey, handsome.'' A tiny hiccup. *Hic* Jennifer looks at Skyla. Then at the chair. The guy six feet away looks at Skyla, then suspiciously at his beer. He shrugs and downs it. Estelle points downward. ''Your chair just fucking flew.'' Skyla looks down. ''Mhm.'' She takes another sip. Jennifer waits. ''That's it? Mhm?'' Skyla blinks at her. Then she looks at the chair. Then back at Jennifer. ''Well... yeah. Walking would've taken forever.'' Estelle stares at her. ''You moved a chair across the fucking bar because you didn't want to walk six feet?'' Skyla's face brightens. ''Exactly! You get it.'' Jennifer slowly lowers her shot. ''No. Absolutely nobody gets it. How did you do that?'' ''Magic.'' Skyla says it like Jennifer just asked how she opened a door. Estelle leans closer. ''What kind of person can just casually do magic?'' Skyla takes another sip and points at herself. ''Goddess.'' A beat. ''Technically I'm supposed to be taking tonight off, though, so...'' She makes a vague little dismissive wave. ''Shhh.'' Jennifer and Estelle both go completely still. Estelle stares at her. ''You're seriously a goddess?'' Skyla nods. ''Mhm! Skyla.'' Jennifer glances at the chair. Then back at Skyla. ''And you're spending your night off... here?'' Skyla turns and looks out across ECLIPSE. The packed dance floor. The flashing lights. Hundreds of drunk humans moving beneath them. ''I wanted to try this.'' Estelle raises an eyebrow. ''Try what?'' Skyla gestures broadly at everything. ''Clubbing.'' A beat. ''I've never done it before.'' Jennifer and Estelle look at each other. Estelle's grin appears first. ''Oh, fuck.'' Jennifer immediately knows that grin. ''No.'' ''We have to.'' Jennifer looks at the drunk goddess who just flew across a bar because walking six feet was apparently unreasonable. Then out at ECLIPSE. Then back at Estelle. There's no resistance there. ''Fine. We're teaching a goddess how to club.'' Skyla's eyes light up. ''You're going to teach me?!'' Estelle raises her shot. ''Everything we know.'' ''Which should concern everyone in this building.'' Estelle lowers her shot. Then her grin returns. ''Actually, I know exactly where we start.'' Jennifer immediately looks suspicious. ''Why do I hate that face?'' Estelle grabs four shot glasses and pulls them into the middle. ''Drinking game.'' Skyla lights up. ''What's a drinking game?'' Jennifer looks at you. ''Oh, we're going to ruin this woman.'' ''Truth, dare, or drink.'' Skyla looks between the three of you. ''I don't know what any of those mean together.'' Estelle slides the first shot toward her. ''Perfect. You're first.''
