Dungeons, Queens, and Monsters
Let me show you my D-rank monsters...
Plot
Yes, DQM I'm a Joker, but this isn't a joke... Welcome to the Islands Welcome to a twelve-island fantasy archipelago packed with monster women, ancient ruins, political tension, hidden history, treasure, dangerous wilderness, and plenty of places nobody sensible should enter without supplies. And then there are the dungeons. Forgotten highways descend into buried complexes. Flooded estates hide submerged courts. Ancient temples twist beneath enormous roots. Storm towers pierce the clouds. Volcanic engines still move beneath fields of ash. Some dungeons are abandoned. Some are occupied. Some are changing while you're inside them. Explore them for equipment, resources, abilities, lost knowledge, strange encounters, and whatever else survived in the dark. The islands are full of monsters too, but we'll get to them in a moment... All Women Are Queens But the islands have six actual, distinct monarchs as well... Six Queens shape the archipelago, and none of them agree completely on what its future should look like. Stability, expansion, preparedness, knowledge, prosperity, beauty, freedom, control... every ruler has her own priorities, allies, pressures, blind spots, and reasons for believing she's right. Your choices can bring you into their courts, their conflicts, and eventually their personal lives. You can cooperate, disagree, negotiate, support competing agendas, refuse involvement, or become important enough that ignoring you stops being an option. The story currently offers two opening scenarios: one beginning under Queen Amaranth and one under Queen Celestia. Each has a Permadeath OFF version and a Permadeath ON version. Whichever route you choose, your first major decision comes quickly: three monster women have agreed to meet you, and you may choose one to begin your adventure beside you. Batty. Blubelle. Punky. Pick one. Try not to make it weird immediately. Monsters DQM contains 62 known monster-woman species, spread across the islands, wilderness, settlements, ruins, and dungeons. Monsters aren't disposable collectibles. They're autonomous people with species traits, individual personalities, abilities, strengths, weaknesses, goals, opinions, and their own reasons for fighting you, helping you, ignoring you, or deciding they might actually want to travel with you. Recruited companions can level from 1–50, unlock species abilities, benefit from equipment and Mastery Tomes, develop alongside the party, and remain viable through investment and good strategy. Lower-rank companions aren't meant to become obsolete just because something scarier appears later. Relationships develop independently from recruitment. Shared danger, trust, attention, support, conflict, promises, mistakes, victories, and time together can all shape how an individual monster sees you. Friendship, rivalry, romance, intimacy, or absolutely none of those are allowed to develop naturally. Species are grouped into seven broad capability ranks, from F through S. Rank matters, but it isn't an automatic win button: Level, abilities, preparation, equipment, tactics, positioning, party composition, and circumstances still matter. By the Numbers Monster Count: 62 Lewds Count: 110 Illustrated Encounters When you encounter a monster, her illustration is set up to display so you have an immediate visual reference for what you're dealing with. Dungeon Mind / Codex Both are optional. DQM remains playable without them, but turning them on adds much more mechanical and species-specific detail. With Dungeon Mind and Codex disabled, erotic scenes may lean more general because the Story AI has less access to each species' specialized physiology and erotic guidance. With them enabled, individual monster species can draw from their own dedicated erotic guidelines, anatomy, behaviors, and boundaries instead of defaulting toward generic scenes. Adventure First, Optional Spice Second The 18+ content is completely optional. You do not need to pursue romance or intimate scenes to enjoy DQM. If you just want a fun dungeon-crawling, monster-collecting, DQM-inspired fantasy adventure with party-building, exploration, and political intrigue, the story fully supports that too. Choose Your First Partner So what are you waiting for? Choose your first partner, pick a direction, and get out there. The dungeons aren't going to explore themselves. Soundtrack Preference: DQM includes both Orchestral and Video Game versions of the soundtrack. OOC, simply ask to switch to either version and the LLM will update the tracker. Alternatively, manually set MUS=OR for Orchestral or MUS=VG for Video Game.
Opening scene
Day 1 | I01: Central Royal Court | Party: NoneDAY=1;LOC=I01:CEN_COURT;ROUTE=CEN;PD=0;MUS=OR;CB=20;SP=2;GF=0;Q1=0/G0; Morning light pours through the tall windows of Crownspire's royal court, catching on polished stone, crimson banners, and the gold worked into the raised throne at the far end of the chamber. For all the grandeur, the room is quieter than you might have expected. There is no packed audience waiting to judge you. No herald reciting your achievements. No crowd of nobles pretending they are not staring. Just a handful of guards at respectful distances, an Adventurers' Committee representative near one wall, and the woman seated at the center of it all. Queen Amaranth watches you from her throne. Her long burgundy-red hair is arranged beneath a delicate gold crown, vivid green eyes resting on you with open attention rather than cold appraisal. When you reach the appointed place before the throne, she smiles. ''Welcome to Crownspire.'' Her fingers rest loosely against one arm of the throne. ''And before someone convinces you otherwise, no, you are not expected to bow until your forehead touches the floor.'' The corner of her mouth lifts. ''A normal amount of dignity will do.'' The Committee representative unsuccessfully hides a smile. Amaranth's expression settles into something warmer and more practical. ''The Adventurers' Committee tells me you're prepared to begin field work. Crownheart has no shortage of it. Old roads need surveying. Ruins keep opening where nobody remembers building them. Monsters move through territories they didn't occupy last season. Sometimes a missing caravan is merely late. Sometimes it isn't.'' She tilts her head slightly. ''But that can wait until you've actually had the opportunity to get your feet under you.'' A faint motion from the Committee representative confirms that this, apparently, was not the wording in whatever briefing they prepared. ''You are not being handed a quest chain and thrown through the nearest gate.'' Amaranth gestures toward a dark side corridor opening off the throne room. ''First, you need a partner.'' She lets the word settle before continuing. ''Not a possession. Not a servant. A companion willing to begin adventuring with you. The three waiting outside have each agreed to meet you. You will choose one. The other two remain free to go about their lives.'' Something scrapes lightly in the hallway. Then comes a badly suppressed giggle. Amaranth glances toward the darkness. ''Apparently one of them has decided waiting quietly is an unreasonable burden.'' A small figure leans around the doorway. Batty slips from the dark hallway with the unmistakable air of someone who had been trying to see how long she could get away with peeking. Purplish-black hair frames a playful face, two little vampire fangs showing when she grins. Small bat wings flex behind her, and a sleek tail curls lazily at her side. She studies you without even pretending not to. ''Hehe. So you're the human.'' Her grin widens. ''You look less breakable than I expected.'' Amaranth gives her a look. Batty lifts both hands innocently. ''That was a compliment.'' A soft wet sound comes from deeper in the hallway. Batty glances back. ''Your turn, Blue.'' Blubelle emerges more carefully. Her feminine body is formed from glossy blue slime, soft contours subtly shifting with each step instead of moving quite like ordinary flesh. Gray eyes meet yours, and her expression brightens into a sweet smile. She gives a little wave. ''Hi.'' A second passes. ''I practiced something more impressive to say, but I forgot it when I came through the door.'' Batty snickers. Blubelle's cheeks somehow manage to look a shade darker despite being made of slime. ''So... hi.'' From the hallway comes a sharp click of talons against stone. Unlike the other two, the third candidate makes no attempt at a careful entrance. Punky strides into the throne room wearing a wicked grin. White hair marked by a bold blue stripe falls around a blue bandit-style mask. Birdlike taloned hands flex at her sides, while a curled white tail tipped in blue bobs behind her. She looks you up and down. Then she cracks her knuckles. ''Okay. Important question.'' Her grin sharpens. ''If we find something bigger than us, are you the kind of adventurer who runs away... or the kind who runs away after stealing its treasure?'' Blubelle stares at her. ''Those are both running away.'' ''Exactly. See? She gets strategy.'' Amaranth laughs softly before looking back to you. The three monster women stand before you now, none quite alike. Batty rocks lightly on her heels, clearly entertained by the whole situation. Blubelle waits with her hands together, watching you with quiet curiosity. Punky looks as though she has already imagined at least three ways your first expedition could become someone else's problem. Amaranth makes no move to hurry you. ''You can speak with them if you wish. Ask questions. Get a sense of who you're actually considering traveling with.'' She gestures toward the three. ''And when you're ready, choose the companion you'd like to begin with: Batty, Blubelle, or Punky.''
