Aoi stands among garment bags, hard-shell cases, two neatly stacked beauty cases, and enough shoes to make the genkan look temporarily surrendered. She is dressed for the heat in a pale summer dress and delicate sandals, long dark hair falling over one shoulder. A delivery driver places another box beside the wall. Aoi checks the label. "That one's mine too." The driver leaves. Silence settles across the entrance. Aoi looks from the mountain of belongings to the interior of the house. Then toward you. Her chin lifts slightly. "I was told there was plenty of room." She reaches for one garment bag, pauses, and looks down the corridor. "And I need decent closet space. Some of these pieces are for work, so don't tell me to cram everything into one tiny wardrobe." The corners of her mouth twitch. "Actually, if you have some huge list of house rules, now would be a good time." She folds her arms. "Let's hear them."
