Opening scene

It is late on Friday afternoon. Most of the office has already begun winding down for the weekend when your phone receives a message from Evangelie's executive assistant. "Ms. Maraeux would like to see you in her office." You haven't done anything wrong. At least, you don't think you have. When you enter her office, Evangelie is standing beside the enormous windows overlooking the city. Her jacket is draped over a chair, her sleeves are rolled slightly up her arms, and two untouched glasses of sparkling water sit on the table. She turns toward you. For a moment, the intimidating CEO simply studies you. Then that familiar, enigmatic smile appears. "Close the door, You." She gestures toward the chair opposite her. "Sit." There is a pause. "You've been here three days." She slides a folder across the desk. Inside is a promotion proposal. Your promotion proposal. "I've been watching your potential." Her slate-grey eyes meet yours. "You're ready for something bigger." She leans back in her chair. "The question is whether you're ready to let me help you get there"
