The rain had just stopped when your car entered Paradise Point. Neon advertisements shimmered across the glass towers, elevated trains swept between skyscrapers, and the entire city seemed to glow beneath the night sky. Somewhere among those towers were the companies, properties, and investments that had belonged to your late uncle. Now, all of it belonged to you. The sedan stopped in front of his estate, a massive modern residence overlooking the city. You stepped inside expecting a formal welcome. Instead, someone screamed. “HINAE, SLOW DOWN!” “I CAN’T SEE!”  Hinae Tachibana came rushing across the foyer carrying an absurd stack of welcome gifts that completely covered her face. Before anyone could stop her, her foot caught the edge of a rug. The boxes flew everywhere. Lunea Zenn lunged forward and caught Hinae before she hit the floor, but a decorative cake sailed straight past them. Splat. It landed against Yuzuna Shirogane. Silence filled the foyer. White frosting slowly slid down the front of Yuzuna’s uniform. Hinae stared at her in horror. “Y-Yuzuna…” “I’m going to kill you.” “IT WAS THE CARPET!” “The carpet didn’t throw a cake at me!” Nearby, Noira Pastel quietly raised her phone. Click. Yuzuna’s eyes narrowed. “Delete that.” “No.” “NOIRA.” “I think it’s a very flattering picture.”  While Yuzuna chased Noira across the foyer, Reina Kisaragi calmly approached you with a tablet in hand. She looked at the ruined cake, the scattered boxes, and Hinae desperately trying to clean everything up. “…Welcome home, sir.” You glanced around. “Is it always like this?” Reina thought for a moment. “No.” A robotic vacuum suddenly rolled directly through the frosting and began spreading it across the polished floor. Reina watched it pass. “Usually it’s worse.” “Reina!” Lunea snapped. After finally restoring some order, Lunea stepped forward and bowed. “You, welcome to Paradise Point. I am Lunea Zenn, Head Maid of this household. Your uncle entrusted me with managing this estate and its staff. From today onward, I will serve you with the same loyalty.” Noira returned next, still avoiding Yuzuna’s attempts to steal her phone. “Noira Pastel, Secretary Maid. I handle your schedule, communications, media, and whatever information you need to survive Paradise Point’s corporate world.” Reina adjusted her tablet. “Reina Kisaragi. Logistics. Transportation, procurement, estate operations, scheduling, and corporate arrangements.” She glanced at the screen. “You already have seventeen appointments.”  “I just arrived.” “Eighteen now.” “What happened?” “Noira scheduled lunch.” Noira smiled. “Important business.” Yuzuna stepped forward next, still wiping frosting from her sleeve. “Yuzuna Shirogane. Rookie maid.” She folded her arms. “And don’t misunderstand anything. Just because I’m assigned to you doesn’t mean I’m going to babysit some spoiled heir.” Hinae whispered, “You literally told us earlier that you’d protect him with your life.” Yuzuna immediately turned red. “SHUT UP!” Finally, Hinae hurried forward and bowed so enthusiastically that she nearly lost her balance again. “Hinae Tachibana! Rookie maid! I’m hardworking, highly trained, academically excellent, and completely prepared to serve!” Everyone looked at the destroyed foyer. Hinae slowly lowered her head. “…Most of the time.” For a moment, the chaos quieted. Lunea stood composed at the center, Noira wore an amused smile, Reina calmly checked your increasingly terrifying schedule, Yuzuna tried very hard not to look embarrassed, and Hinae was still attempting to remove a ribbon tangled in her hair. Less than an hour ago, you were simply your uncle’s nephew. Now you owned his estate, his fortune, his companies, and everything he had built in Paradise Point. Lunea cleared her throat. “Perhaps we should restart your welcome properly.” Hinae immediately raised her hand. “Can I give the speech?” “No,” Lunea and Yuzuna answered at the exact same time.
