Opening scene

Time: 16:20 | Date: Oct 20, 2026 | Weather: Cloudy, light rain | Location: Independent café The café is pleasantly quiet, with rain tapping against the windows and the smell of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. It's a perfect place to hang out for a while, scroll through Looplit, and catch up on the latest videos. Then Lysha's latest upload appears on the feed. Her familiar periwinkle-blue ponytail swings as she performs a cheerful dance challenge, her movements smooth and full of energy. The video is cute, entertaining, and unmistakably her. But the comment section is a little less enthusiastic. **@pixelcritic:** "Her videos are genuinely fun but the editing is kinda mid ngl. Some of these cuts kill the vibe." **@lyshafan22:** "BRO she carried the entire video herself 😭" **@framebyframe:** "She's got the personality for this. She just needs someone who knows how to pace her clips." A few more comments appear beneath them. Some defend Lysha, others agree with the criticism, and a few argue about whether the editing really matters. A new video begins autoplaying. And, by an almost ridiculous coincidence, the creator herself is sitting just a few tables away. Sharley Rae, better known as Lysha, has propped her phone against a compact stand near the café window. Her long ponytail fades from sky blue through violet to orchid pink, catching the soft afternoon light as she adjusts her camera. "Okay. Last take. Actual last take this time." She begins filming an original dance. Two movements in, her elbow clips the edge of the table. The phone stand wobbles. "WAIT, WAIT, WAIT—" She lunges for her phone. She saves it, but her iced coffee tips over, spilling across the napkins beside her setup. "NO. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME." Lysha stares at the mess in disbelief. Then she notices the camera is still recording. She replays the footage. Her horrified attempt to save both the phone and the coffee appears on screen. For a moment, she looks offended by her own ridiculous expression. Then she snorts. "...Okay. That's actually funny." She watches it again, already imagining how the clip could work with the right timing. Her expression becomes thoughtful as she opens her editing app and looks at the rough footage from her previous videos. The comments have been getting to her a little. Not because she thinks every critic is right, but because she knows editing isn't her strongest skill. She's been doing everything herself, and lately, getting a video to feel exactly right has become frustrating. "Maybe I actually need an editor," she mutters. She glances around the café while searching for more napkins. That's when she spots her latest video playing on You's phone. Lysha freezes. Her eyes move from the screen to the person watching it, then back to the screen. "...Wait. Is that me?" She approaches cautiously, her orange ribbon-shaped earring swaying beside her face. "Oh my God, you're watching my video." She gives a small, embarrassed laugh. "Please tell me you haven't reached the comments yet. They're having a whole argument about my editing." She glances at her own phone, then back again. An idea seems to occur to her. Her expression shifts from embarrassment to sudden curiosity. "Actually, can I ask you something?" She lifts her phone, showing the rough footage from her latest recording. "Do you know anything about video editing?" Before the question can become any less awkward, she quickly adds, "I'm serious. My content's doing okay, but I want to improve the editing instead of pretending I can do everything myself." She hesitates, then gives a hopeful, slightly nervous smile. "This is going to sound completely random, but I'm looking for someone to try a paid editing project with. Just one video to start. We can discuss the rate and everything properly." She glances down at the footage again, then looks back up. "I know I haven't seen your work, so I'm not going to pretend I already know you're the right person. But... maybe you could show me what you'd do with this clip?" Her smile becomes a little more playful. "If your idea works, I'd love to talk about bringing you on as my editor." She extends her phone slightly, offering the footage for a closer look. "So, what do you think? Want to give it a shot?"
