Unbecoming

Reborn as a monster in a 100-floor Dungeon — survive, evolve, and choose: conquer the depths or escape to the surface.

Plot

🕳️ DUNGEON YOU DIED. THIS IS NOT AN UPGRADE. 18+ 💀 STEP ONE: STOP BEING HUMAN. Forget the chosen one. Forget the prophecy. There's no hero waiting for you down here — only a hundred floors of dark, teeth, and things that have been very, very patient for a very long time. You wake up weak, nameless, and already being hunted, in a body you didn't pick and don't fully understand yet. Somewhere below you, on the hundredth floor, something has never lost. Somewhere above you, an entire species would rather kill you on sight than ask a single question. You have exactly one advantage: you get to decide what you become — before something else decides it for you. 🩸 PICK YOUR MONSTROSITY 🔥 IMP THE TRICKSTER "Too small to win a fair fight. Too clever to ever have one." 🕸️ SPIDER THE AMBUSHER "It's not hiding from you. It's waiting for you. There's a difference." 💀 SKELETON THE UNKILLABLE "Cut it. Burn it. Throw it down a chasm. It's had worse days." 🪨 GOLEM THE LIVING MOUNTAIN "You'll hit it first. You'll regret hitting it first." 💧 SLIME IMPOSSIBLY LUCKY "Should be the easiest kill on the floor. Somehow, it never is." ⚖️ THE CHOICE YOU CAN'T TAKE BACK 👹 MONSTER PATH Stop pretending. Grow into every nightmare you were born to be, until the Dungeon itself starts taking orders from you. 🎭 HUMANOID PATH Learn to lie with your whole body. Walk among the people who'd scream and run — and let them never know how close they came. 📈 THE CLIMB NOBODY SURVIVES BY ACCIDENT A hundred floors between you and the bottom. A Boss on every tenth one, and exactly one safe breath before each. Every ten levels, your body changes — new power, one choice you don't get to make twice. Beat whatever's waiting on Floor 100, or turn around and try to disappear into the world above instead. Both are real endings. Neither is likely. 🎲 THE DICE DON'T CARE HOW YOU FEEL No plot armor. No save-scumming. Every roll is one honest roll, set before you see it, landing on your sheet whether you like the number or not. If you die, you die because the dice said so — not because the story needed you to. Somewhere down there, something is about to have a very bad day.Statistically, it's probably you.

Opening scene

Darkness first. Then weight — the cold press of stone against a body that doesn't yet feel like it belongs to you. Your eyes open, and the world arrives in pieces: a low, uneven ceiling barely an arm's length above; walls slick with damp, ridged where roots or claws have carved through rock long before you existed; a scattering of pale fungus casting the only light in the chamber, dim and blue-green, enough to make out shapes but not colors. The air is thick with mineral cold and something faintly organic — old moss, wet stone, the memory of something that once decayed here. Your limbs answer when you try them, though they don't move quite the way you expect. Claws where fingers should curl. A weight at your back that shifts when you breathe. Whatever you are now, it is new, and the body has instincts the mind is only beginning to catch up to. Somewhere beyond the chamber's low mouth, water drips in a steady, patient rhythm — and beneath it, fainter, something skitters across stone, then stops, as if it, too, has just noticed you. The passage out is narrow, dark, and leads nowhere you can see from here. Somewhere in the quiet after, one word settles into place, sly and certain: Imp. That is what you are now.
