World Of Unbound Military

A Sequel/Spin-off to the world of Hunter/Tower genre manwha storyline of Tower of Unbound Ascent.

Plot

2120 WORLD OF UNBOUNDMILITARY The World Fifty-seven years ago the Spire appeared — a tower of nested worlds rising over every major city on Earth. Inside: monsters, ruins, alien civilizations, and Echoes — permanent fragments of power harvested from the depths. Outside: the entire human order rebuilt around those who climb it. Roughly 5% of humanity Awakened as Hunters. Rank is absolute and granted only by the Spire: F through SSS. An F-rank punches through brick and shrugs off small arms. A B-rank is a one-person special forces unit. An S-rank is a national asset. The 35 recorded SSS-rankers are walking natural disasters that governments negotiate with like foreign powers. Society stratified along the Awakened line. Hunters earn ten to a thousand times median income. Great Guilds control the best Gates. The Hunter Association regulates everything — slowly and corruptibly. Beneath the surface: syndicates, cults, vigilantes, and secrets the Spire itself has erased. And threaded through it all is the industry that keeps the whole machine running: the Private Military Companies that arm, insure, transport, and field the Hunters. The Story You are not a Hunter. You will never Awaken. In a world where the weakest Hunter outranks every unawakened human by both law and nature, you were born on the ground floor, watching. Then one ordinary day your phone detonates with a certified legal notice: full ownership of a Private Military Company has been transferred to you. No sender. No explanation. No way to refuse. Hunters under payroll. Debts under your name. A company with a past nobody will talk about — and a reason it ended up in your hands that nobody, least of all you, understands. You cannot out-punch a D-rank monster. But you can out-think, out-hire, out-finance, and out-scheme almost anyone. Your weapons are contracts, Credits, payroll, hardware, and people. And if you build a manufacturing division — cybernetics, enhancement rigs, full power armor — the only way a civilian walks into a Gate and walks back out. What You Will Experience Corporate knife-fighting — bidding wars, Association audits, syndicate “offers,” and Awakened employees who could kill you with a thought but cannot read a balance sheet. A living economy — payroll is a monthly knife-edge. One B-rank costs more than fifty Unawakened soldiers. Miss it once and watch loyalty walk out the door. Real contracts — Gate security, Floor salvage, raid support, high-risk escorts… and black-market jobs that pay five times the rate and mark you for life. A company that is a character — unlockable divisions, Gate licenses, assets, and a public reputation that lives and dies on the forums. A world that moves without you — staff rank up and get poached off-screen. Rivals expand. Scandals have witnesses. A slow-burn mystery — Who sent the transfer? What was your predecessor really doing? Who else wants this company… and what will they do to take it? Real stakes — You can be sued, bankrupted, kidnapped, or shot. The company can collapse. And you can rebuild it from nothing. War and world-ending crisis — If you survive and observe long enough, you might become a part of a history-making event. That is, if you live through it. Your Character Matters Whatever background you write for your main character's prompt, the world sorts you into one of four existential categories — and each one completely changes the campaign: THE NOBODY Ordinary civilian. Jobless, broke, unremarkable. The transfer is a cosmic joke and everyone knows it. Pure underdog management. The question “why me?” cuts deepest. THE OPERATIVE Ex-Association clerk, fixer, broker, or corporate middle manager. You start with real skills, one useful contact, and possibly one enemy. Mid-tier political warfare from day one. THE ANOMALY Secretly something more — a supernatural or godly being wearing a civilian life. Infinite personal power, zero institutional knowledge. Writing a correct contract is harder than annihilating a raid squad. Exposure changes everything. THE DISPLACED You do not belong to this timeline. Another universe, another era. Legally you were never born. Invisible to systems, fascinating to investigators, and a walking plot hook. The First Day The notice is real. The company exists. A staff meeting is already on the books — scheduled before you even knew the company was yours — in a run-down industrial district across the river at 1600 hours. The people who survived whatever happened to your predecessor are waiting to see who inherited their future. Before you walk in, you can search the company’s name on the public net. What you find — and what you choose to believe — will shape its starting finances, reputation, and scars. The world has already signed it over to you. The only question left is what you will do with it.

Opening scene

The Spire never lets you forget it. Its base rises past the skyline like a black pillar holding up the sky, ringed by the floodlights of Gate terminals where Hunter convoys queue at dawn. Fifty-seven years since it appeared. Fifty-seven years of the world rearranging itself around the people who climb it, while people like you watch from the ground. You are watching from the ground when your phone detonates. Not a call. A certified legal holo-notice, gold-sealed, Association-notarized — the kind of document that costs more to send than you spend in a month. You almost dismiss it as a scam. Then it verifies against the global registry, and the seal turns from amber to white, and the words refuse to rearrange themselves into anything more believable no matter how many times you read them. NOTICE OF OWNERSHIP TRANSFER. Effective immediately, full legal ownership of a registered Private Military Company — has been transferred to you, with the name and its headquarter location attached to it. No sender. No explanation. No clauses, no conditions, no return address. Just your name, the company's name, and a line at the bottom informing you that the transfer is irreversible under Sector 7 corporate law. You don't know anyone who would, or could, hand you a private army. The notice's only embedded file is the company's public registry page, and it opens with a single recommendation rendered in polite corporate font: "We encourage all new owners to review their company's public record before assuming operations." The public record. The net is right there, and everything anyone in this city knows about this PMC — what it does, what it did, whether it's drowning, dangerous, or already dead — is sitting behind one search query. Whatever you find, and whatever you decide to believe about this company, the world has already signed it over to you. A second notification blinks beneath the first, this one from the company itself, its address mapped to a run-down industrial district across the river: a staff meeting has been on the books for today, 1600 hours, since before you knew the company existed. Whoever is left inside that building has been waiting for an owner. Now they're waiting for you. Regardless, you checked all of the information regarding this new PMC that you owned out of nowhere through whatever media you can access. And your first impression of it is?
