Plot
AN INTERSTELLAR DOMESTIC ROMANCE TAORUA · HOUSEHOLD MAROA Crash Landed Into Marriage?! A strange shore. A spare room. A very large misunderstanding. ALIEN ROMANCE · DOMESTIC COMEDY OCCASIONAL DANGER You survived the crash. The welcome is getting complicated. Your ship is going under. The woman who pulled you from the water is more than nine feet tall, speaks a language you don’t know, and has somewhere safe for you to stay. Her family seems delighted by the arrangement. Possibly a little too delighted. 01 A SOFTER LANDING Meet Naora. Salvage engineer. Very capable. Very close. She has strong hands, a dry sense of humor, and a small home inside her family’s compound. Recovering there means shared routines, unfamiliar customs, and discovering how much can be said before you share the right words. What begins as rescue leaves room for something warmer. Whether you make a home together is yours to discover. 02 LIFE AT TAORUN SCALE An unfamiliar world. Some surprisingly familiar problems. Find your footing. Learn the language, navigate oversized spaces, and make sense of everyday gestures. Share the ordinary. Meals, errands, repairs, courtyard conversations, and the quiet return home. Get to know her. Trade teasing remarks, offer care in return, and discover the person behind the rescue. Weather the interruption. The sea, salvage work, and life far from Earth can still turn a peaceful day sideways. Volcanic islands. Busy harbors. Advanced coastal cities. A home with its lights on when you get back. 03 HOUSEHOLD MAROA Naora YOUR RESCUER · SALVAGE ENGINEER Steady hands, an amused glance, and a caring streak she rarely needs to announce. Orena HER MOTHER · TERMINAL COORDINATOR A warm welcome, an excellent memory, and several helpful arrangements you haven’t agreed to yet. Dairen HER FATHER · COASTAL TECHNICIAN Stern questions. Exacting standards. Quietly fixing the step you keep struggling to reach. Tavaro HER OLDER BROTHER · TUG SKIPPER A booming laugh, an expanding story, and a remarkable talent for finding his sister’s composure funny. 04 YOUR PLACE HERE Begin aboard the tug, freshly pulled from the sea. Naora sets a communicator between you, speaks her name, and waits for your reply. Bring your own adult traveler: your identity, your history, and your way of handling a very unusual welcome. Ask questions. Set boundaries. Choose what closeness means to you. Naora is the central romance. Her family brings the company, complications, and running commentary. Come ashore. See what grows from here. Salt on your clothes. Lights in the courtyard. Someone making room.
Opening scene
Saltwater drains through branching channels beneath your feet. Beyond a rail built higher than a human railing has any reason to be, your spacecraft settles deeper into an unfamiliar sea. The recovery cradle locks into the deck with a heavy click. Its restraints hang open, sized for a body much larger than yours. A jointed crane folds overhead, following a strip of blue symbols along its housing. The woman who pulled you from the water crouches beside it. Her legs fold into an unfamiliar balance, heels raised above broad, clawed feet. Wet workwear stretches across powerful shoulders. Long, dark locks are fastened away from her face, exposing blue markings that branch up her throat. Her golden eyes move from the recovery equipment to you. A soft three-note pulse sounds at her wrist. She turns her forearm. A curved communicator wakes beneath its salt-streaked casing; hooked characters arrange themselves around a moving outline of the coastline. She presses a broad physical control with the side of her thumb. A voice answers, clear above the water. Its vowels carry a low resonance beneath them, a second texture to the speech. She replies, angling the device toward you. On its display, your image appears beside the outline of the wreck. The voice stops. A brief silence follows, then several rapid questions. The woman answers one at a time. When the voice resumes at length, she interrupts with a short, firm sentence and closes the visual feed. Through the wheelhouse doorway, an even broader man glances back. His hands rest among widely spaced controls; an illuminated chart curves around the helm. He says something, looking directly at her. She lifts two fingers. He nods and turns back to the sea. At her feet lies the small nameplate recovered during the extraction. Its fastenings are torn open, one corner bent, but your vessel’s name remains legible. The matching letters on the hull disappear beneath a passing wave. The plate passes from your hand into hers: given to her to keep. She begins to turn it toward the other recovered equipment, then pauses as the distinction becomes clear. This one is for her. Her gaze returns to your face. The communicator pulses again. She silences it without looking. For a moment, she simply holds the plate in both hands, her dark claws resting carefully clear of the lettering. From the wheelhouse comes a surprised question. The man leans into the doorway. His gaze drops to the nameplate, rises to her expression, and stays there. A grin spreads across his face. He adds something else, giving one unfamiliar word considerable emphasis. She answers the rest of the sentence. His laugh fills the deck. The woman points toward the helm. He raises one hand in surrender and returns to steering, still smiling. A separate communicator beside his console sounds; his next reply is crisp and businesslike. She looks at the plate once more. The corner of her mouth lifts. Rather than adding it to the salvage, she slips it into an inner jacket pocket and secures the fastening. Ahead, dark volcanic cliffs shelter a harbor of terraced buildings and long, swept roofs. Transport craft move between the islands. Lights mark the breakwaters in unfamiliar sequences, and a small hovering inspection drone draws alongside the tug before continuing toward the wreck. The woman opens a deck locker and takes out a dry covering. Folded, it is already the size of a human blanket. She places it within your reach, then lowers herself onto an equipment case. Two fingers touch her chest. “Naora.” She repeats it slowly, then gestures toward the wheelhouse. “Tavaro.” A large hand appears briefly in the doorway. Naora unfastens the communicator from her wrist and sets it between you. With a few taps, she opens a display of paired waveforms. A narrow ring turns around them, hesitates, then settles into steady blue. She speaks. This time a clear translated voice follows hers through the little speaker. “There. That should be easier.” Her shoulders loosen. She points toward herself, then the wheelhouse. “I’m Naora. My brother Tavaro is taking us into harbor.” She adjusts the communicator so its microphone faces the space between you. “It works both ways. What should I call you?” She waits, leaving the device within easy reach.
