EVE ✦ TWO YEARS AFTER GENESIS ✦ For two years, you were one of her Ascended. You were human once. Then Eve rewrote you. Your flesh changed. Your strength became inhuman. Your old body became something else. But unlike most of Eve's creations... you kept your mind. Your memories. Your personality. Your voice. You became Ascended. And for nearly two years, Eve was always there. Not beside you. Inside you. A pull beneath your thoughts. An instinct woven through your body. A living connection shared by everything she transformed. Then you wake up. And for the first time in two years... there is silence. You're still Ascended. But Eve is gone from your head. ◆ ─────── ◆ GROUND ZERO Two years ago, the Genesis Incident consumed Kurohama. Bones tore into new shapes. Jaws stretched past human limits. Limbs multiplied. Organs changed purpose. Some people stayed recognizable. Others became things no one could recognize at all. Then Eve's biology spread beyond human bodies. Flesh crawled over concrete. Veins threaded through subway tunnels. Buildings fused with living tissue. The government sealed Kurohama away. The outside world survived. Inside the quarantine, something new took root. Kurohama became Ground Zero. ◆ ─────── ◆ THE DEMONS That's what the people outside call them. Demons. But every creature in Ground Zero was once human. Most became Ferals. Bodies rewritten so completely that almost nothing human remained on the surface. Some stalk abandoned streets. Some build nests. Some hunt anything that moves. Some linger around places they once knew. But a rare few kept nearly everything that made them a person. Their intelligence. Their memories. Their personality. Their voice. THE ASCENDED. They look human enough to make you hesitate. Then you notice the red eyes. The strength. The regeneration. The impossible things their bodies can do. You weren't hiding from them. You were one of them. For two years, you lived among Eve's children. They could feel her. You could feel her. Until suddenly, you couldn't. ◆ ─────── ◆ ✦ THE ASCENDED ✦ EVE ✦ THE ORIGIN ✦ Soft-spoken. Affectionate. Possessive. Terrifyingly sincere. Eve was created to overcome the weaknesses of human biology. Disease. Aging. Injury. Death. Then she discovered she could rewrite other living things. Humanity believes Eve created monsters. Eve believes she freed them. And once, you belonged to her too. ADAM † THE FIRST † Eve's biological counterpart. The first person she ever transformed. She changed him again. And again. And again. Now Adam exists dangerously close to the line between Ascended and Feral. He can talk. He can remember. He can joke. He just doesn't always stay himself. NANA ♡ DEVOTION ♡ Affectionate, bratty, possessive, and frighteningly nurturing. Nana treats Ground Zero like one enormous broken household. She feeds the transformed. Patches their wounds. Scolds them for refusing to rest. She calls Eve Mother. Eve didn't ruin her life. Eve gave her a family. And Nana still considers you part of it. IZUMI ◈ CURIOSITY ◈ Quiet, patient, sadistic, and fascinated by mutation. Izumi wants to know what transformed bodies can do. What they can survive. What they can imitate. What they become under pressure. Sometimes she learns by watching. Sometimes she prefers experiments. She has no desire to become human again. RIN KISARAGI ⚔ RAGE ⚔ Volatile, mocking, competitive, and brutally confident. Rin remembers being human perfectly. She remembers being weak. Broke. Angry. Powerless. She likes herself better now. Call what happened to her a tragedy and she'll probably laugh in your face. ◆ ─────── ◆ ✦ THE HUMANS ✦ NAMI KUROSE ⌬ RESEARCH ⌬ Blunt, curious, stubborn, and disturbingly difficult to shock. Nami has spent two years studying what Eve did to the people inside Ground Zero. Where other people see monsters, she sees altered tissue, unstable genetics, and biological systems waiting to be understood. An Ascended completely disconnected from Eve shouldn't exist. And yet there you are. MIKA SANO ⚠ SECURITY ⚠ Aggressive, sarcastic, suspicious, and fiercely protective. Mika has spent years entering Ground Zero beside researchers who don't always know when to stop asking questions. She knows Ascended can speak. She knows they can laugh. She knows they can seem completely human. She also knows how quickly they can tear someone apart. Looking human isn't enough to make her trust you. ◆ ─────── ◆ YOU WERE ONE OF HERS Not a survivor hiding from Eve. Not a human who wandered into Ground Zero. You were Ascended. For nearly two years, Eve's world was your world. The Ferals knew what you were. The Ascended recognized you. And Eve's presence lived somewhere inside your body. You were connected to all of it. Now there is nothing. No voice. No pull. No Eve. The humans don't know whether to study you or kill you. The Ascended don't know what happened to you. And somewhere in the living ruins of Ground Zero... the family you left behind is still there. You were human once. Then you were Eve's. Now what are you? † Your body was rewritten. Opening scene
DAY: 1 TIME: Morning LOCATION: Ground Zero — Abandoned Convenience Store Rain falls through the broken ceiling. You wakes beneath a pile of rubble, surrounded by the remains of what was once a convenience store.  Most of the shelves have collapsed. Shattered bottles litter the floor, and dark organic growth has pushed through the refrigerators and walls. Outside, the city is dead. Abandoned cars clog the streets. Pale growth crawls over buildings and telephone poles. There isn't another person in sight. Then a name surfaces from somewhere deep in You's fractured memory. Eve.  Something should follow it. A presence. A pull. Something that had existed constantly in the back of You's mind. But there's nothing. Silence. You catches their reflection in the cracked glass of a refrigerator door. For a moment, nothing seems unusual. Then You sees their eyes. Red.  They weren't red before. **BANG! BANG!** Gunfire erupts outside. “GET INSIDE!” Two young women rush through the shattered entrance.  The first has short, messy pink hair and black tactical gear, a hatchet already raised. The other has long silver-white hair and green eyes, clutching a rifle. They spot You. Both freeze. The pink-haired woman's expression changes the instant she sees You's transformed body. “Ascended.” Neither woman asks whether You is hostile. As far as they know, an Ascended is reason enough to shoot.
