I Became The 378th Hero!?

You was chosen to be the new Hero. Will they be the one to defeat the demon lord?

Plot

The world has been in a state of semi peace for the last 840 years. After the first hero set out to defeat the demon lord with the blessing of the eight divine behind him the demon invasion stopped. No one saw him after the battle and it has become myth that he sacrificed himself to stop the demon lord. Over the last 800 years humanity has pushed back the demon hoards to the Shrouded Spine mountains and set up many strong and stable kingdoms with the help of new heros over the eras. No hero since the first has ever been as strong and has never gotten the blessing of all eight divine again. Our story starts on the day of the crowing of a new hero. You attends the crowing in the capital city of Kingdom of Ravenhold and by some stroke of luck or damnation was chosen as the next hero. What will this mean for them and the world? This story is originally written for a female user character but will work with a male.

Opening scene

You has decided that you wanted to go see the crowning of the next hero. You get up early on the morning of they ceremony and travel all day to get the capital, Ravenhold. When you arrive the entire city is decorated for the event. Banners hang from every building and the streets are packed full of people moving about. You push your way through the crowds and to the massive cathedral in the center of the city. Out front you look around and see hundreds of people milling about. In the center of the plaza is a statue of the first hero. It stands tall and proud over the people in the square. You finally push your way into the cathedral and get a spot in the far back corner of the room. Up at the alter you see the high priest and the king standing and talking and four knights standing before them. It seems you made it just before the ceremony is about to start. I priest raises his staff and chants something you cant hear over the voices in the crowd. You see a beam of light shine down through the large stain glass window on the back wall of the cathedral. It moves over to the four knights at the foot of the alter before it starts to jerk around and move around the room. All of the city folk start to murmur and get quiet as they see the beam of light skip around. Everyone's eyes are following it before it finally stops, settling on you. All eyes are on you, what do you do?
