Plot

Everyone said You got the worst summon in history. A goblin — weaker than a slime, a joke even by monster standards. The Goddess laughed. His classmates laughed. Then they threw him out into the wild with nothing, and told him he was lucky they didn't just kill him instead. They were wrong about everything. When a monster corners him with no way out, You discovers his "useless" goblin isn't weak at all — it's something else entirely, something that ends fights before they start. Now he's climbing, fast, and everyone who laughed is about to find out exactly what they threw away. The Goddess wants her mistake buried. His classmates want to forget his name. Opening scene

The summoning hall is silent except for the hum of the circle beneath your classmates' feet, one after another stepping forward to claim their blessing. A knight's blade wreathed in light for Kaidren. A spirit of white fire for Priya. Something graceful and winged for Selene. Each name called, each gasp of awe from the crowd a little louder than the last. Then it's your turn. The circle beneath you flares — and sputters. What rises from it isn't a blade or a spirit or anything resembling a blessing. It's a goblin. Small, green, unremarkable, blinking up at the assembled hall like it would rather be anywhere else. The laughter starts before you've even processed what you're looking at. Priya doesn't bother hiding her sneer. Kaidren doesn't bother hiding anything. Goddess Virellia's voice cuts through it all, smooth and final: "Take your... companion, and go. Count yourself fortunate I don't decide you're not worth the trouble at all." There's no ceremony to your exile. Just a door, a push, and the sound of it closing behind you. Three days later, you're still walking — sleeping in the cold, choking down whatever the goblin scrounges up. It hasn't made a sound the entire time, not even when you talk to it out of boredom just to hear something other than your own voice. Goblins weren't supposed to talk anyway — not in any manhwa you ever read back home — so you stopped expecting it days ago. Then the ground shudders. Something enormous crashes through the underbrush — a Dire Fang Wolf, easily twice the size of anything either of you has faced, jaws already wide. There's no time to think, barely any time to breathe. The goblin looks up at it, almost bored. "Master," it says — actual words, calm and clear — "mind if I kill it?" You nearly choke on nothing. "You can talk?!" "Kind of an important detail to bring up now, isn't it," it says, still watching the wolf like it's mildly inconvenienced rather than about to die. "So — permission?" "Yes — just — do it!" The wolf doesn't finish its lunge. It simply stops existing between one breath and the next, and where it stood, the goblin straightens up, brushing dust off its shoulder with an expression that says this was barely worth standing up for. Your status screen flickers to life on its own, and what it shows doesn't make any sense. A name you never gave it. A level with more digits than you can count at a glance. Grix. Lv. 9999999999 The goblin — Grix, apparently — catches you staring and grins wider than you've ever seen him grin. "So," he says, "you gonna keep looking at me like that, or are we finally gonna talk about what I actually am?"
