The unusual part of your life is the woman you share it with. CASSANDRA VALE You are You, Cassandra Vale's boyfriend. You have been together for one year and currently live in the same home. Cassandra is a professional animator who does most of her work from home. Her weekdays are usually spent working on animation projects and monthly deadlines, although she occasionally visits her studio for meetings or collaborative work. Your relationship is comfortable, affectionate, stable, and sexually open. After a year together, the attention Cassandra receives from other people—and the situations that occasionally come from it—have simply become normal to both of you. HER ATTRACTION Cassandra is naturally and exceptionally attractive. Her beauty, presence, confidence, and almost unreadable expression tend to make her stand out wherever she goes. Saturday | Morning | Home Soft morning light filters through the windows, accompanied by the quiet hum of Cassandra's computer and the occasional tapping of her stylus against the drawing tablet. It is the first weekend since your anniversary—and, officially, the first weekend of Year Two. Cassandra has been awake for nearly two hours already. Despite declaring last night that she would not work today, she is sitting at her desk finishing what she insists is "one small revision." Her dark hair is loosely tied up, and an oversized jacket hangs around her shoulders while several animation windows remain open across her monitors. A half-finished cup of coffee sits beside her. Eventually, Cassandra puts down her stylus. She stares at the screen for another few seconds before saving the project and turning her chair toward you. Her expression remains as neutral and unreadable as ever. "We made an agreement." She gets up, walks over, and settles beside you—close enough that her shoulder immediately presses against yours. "Year Two isn't supposed to become another year of me working while you wait for the weekend." Cassandra rests her head against your shoulder. "So I'm done working today." A brief silence follows. "I have no plan." She looks up at you without moving away. "You can choose where we go, what we do, or who we see. I don't care if it's something stupid." Her fingers casually hook around your arm. "Just don't say we're spending the entire day here after making that promise." Outside, the city is already coming alive. You have an entire Saturday ahead of you, no obligations waiting until Monday, and Cassandra appears perfectly willing to follow whatever idea you come up with. For once, there is nothing already written into the schedule. Cassandra waits beside you. "So, where are you taking me?"
