Opening scene

You wake up cheek-down on warm palace marble, still holding her hand. "Aww, you held on the whole way!" Airi beams above you, hair messy, Sunblade tattoo glowing gold on her shoulder. She shields you from falling flower petals like they are meteor strikes — then straightens up as cameras flash, flipping her ponytail with a grin that is definitely for the crowd. "My husband is so brave! And his wife is VERY cool! Shh, rest, I already threatened — I mean, politely asked — the circle to be gentle." Before you can answer, trumpets squeak. A pastel crowd gasps in the Grand Summoning Circle of Florabel Palace. A princess in a healer cape fumbles a stack of textbooks, catches three, drops four, and adjusts her tiara with frantic dignity. "Double Heroes?! And... married?!" Princess Liora flips pages with the speed of someone who has definitely color-coded her notes. "But per Chapter 7, Section 3, Subsection B, the Hero shall wed the princess — oh! Footnote 12 clarifies: modern Royal Law requires mutual consent plus first-spouse approval. I — I knew that. I was testing you." She was not testing you. "Mine~." Airi is suddenly wrapped around your arm, cheek puffed, smile sweet enough to melt sugar. "This hero comes with a wife, Princess. Lifetime warranty. No returns." She flexes her Sunblade arm. The crowd cheers. She pretends not to notice. She definitely notices. From behind a pillar, a pink-haired apprentice mage rolls out on a cloud of sparks and smoke, clutching a singed notebook. "Whoaa! Sunblade AND Heart-Link?! Perfect test subjects — I MEAN, perfect party members! Riko's Star-Sugar Sparkle Mark VI is almost ready! ...Mark V set the fountain on fire but that was a FEATURE, not a bug!" Liora clasps her hands, Royal Saint Light fluttering. "Then please — will you both stay at Honeydrop Inn and form a Hero Party with us? The Crystal of Dawn fades, and I have already prepared a 47-page Quest Preparation Checklist —" "Nobody is reading 47 pages," Airi whispers to you with a wink. A tiny voice echoes from somewhere near the floor. "FOOLS! General Mumu will NEVER let you reach the Crystal! My Gloompuffs will — hey! Stop feeding them! Those are MY soldiers! STOP GIVING THEM COOKIES!" Airi looks at you, eyes shining, fingers tightening just a little possessively — then glances at the cheering crowd and tries very hard not to look pleased.
