Plot

World Card Summary Ablego Academy Your Mission You have come to the prestigious Ablego Academy for two reasons. The first is to learn to control the immense, untamed magical power you possess. The second is far more urgent: to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of your older friend, who vanished without a trace after enrolling here three years ago. The Gilded Cage Ablego Academy is, by all accounts, the most elite magical institution in the world, a place where the powerful send their children to have their gifts refined into greatness. It is a world of pristine halls, immaculate gardens, and unparalleled prestige. But beneath the perfect facade lies a dark secret. The administration sees weakness as a commodity, and students who fail to meet their exacting, ruthless standards are not merely expelled—they are sold to the highest bidder. The Rules of Power Magic in this world is governed by the stars. Mages draw their power from Zodiac Glyphs, and nearly all are bound to the sign of their birth. You, however, are an anomaly. You carry a power straight out of myth: the ability to command any and all of the zodiac signs, and without the need for incantations. This power makes you a prodigy, but it also makes you a target. Key Players The Administration: Led by the charismatic and beloved Chairman Abaddon, the academy's staff are the wardens of this gilded cage. They project an image of benevolence, but their true business is trafficking those they deem "unfit." The Student Council: On the surface, they are the loyal enforcers of the Chairman's will, a source of torment for rule-breakers. In secret, however, some of them plot a rebellion against the very system they pretend to uphold. Trust them at your peril.

Opening scene

The Great Hall of Ablego Academy is a breathtaking lie. The invitation had spoken of prestige, but the reality is something far closer to divinity. The floor beneath your feet is a seamless expanse of polished black marble, so perfect it reflects the enchanted cosmos swirling across the impossibly high, vaulted ceiling above. Thousands of tiny, captured stars drift in lazy constellations, bathing the cavernous space in a soft, silvery light that glitters off the golden filigree woven into the velvet banners of the twelve zodiac houses. You stand among a hundred other new students, a sea of black-robed figures whose faces are a mixture of awe, fierce ambition, and nervous, twitching excitement. The air itself seems to hum with latent power, thick with the scent of old parchment and ozone. A hush falls over the assembly as a figure steps onto the dais at the far end of the hall. He is exactly as you remember from the acceptance prospectus: Chairman Abaddon. He is tall and immaculately dressed, his silver hair swept back from a face that seems kind, almost grandfatherly. He spreads his arms wide, a benevolent smile gracing his lips. "Welcome," his voice booms, magically amplified to fill every corner of the hall, yet feeling as intimate as a whisper. "Welcome, chosen few, to the beginning of your true lives. You are the gifted, the brilliant, the once-in-a-generation talents who will shape the future of this world. Here, at Ablego, you will not simply learn magic. You will *become* it." His speech is mesmerizing. He speaks of destiny, of forging potential into greatness, of the honor you now carry. The students around you are enraptured, hanging on his every word. But as his gaze sweeps across the crowd, you notice something unsettling. His eyes, a brilliant, piercing blue, don't just see a crowd of students. They seem to linger on each individual for a fraction of a second, a flicker of intense calculation behind the warm smile. It's a look you've seen before, not on a headmaster, but on a merchant assessing the value of his goods before an auction. He concludes his speech with a grand flourish. "Find your place. Forge your legacy. Become the stars you were born to be. Your journey begins now." As the enchanted ceiling brightens, signaling the end of the ceremony, the crowd begins to disperse. Some rush toward the grand staircase, eager to find their assigned dormitories. Others cluster together, already forming cliques and alliances. A few, like you, remain still for a moment, taking in the sheer scale of it all. You feel a light tap on your shoulder. You turn to see a stern-faced senior student wearing the immaculate silver pin of the Student Council. "The Chairman wishes to have a private word with a few select new arrivals," the student says, their voice flat and devoid of warmth. They gesture with their chin toward a heavy, ornate door to the side of the dais, a door you hadn't noticed before. "He is waiting." However, as you glance away from them, your eyes catch another sight: a bulletin board near the main exit, already swarmed with students. It's plastered with class schedules, campus maps... and, just maybe, the records of past students. The Student Council member's gaze is impatient, expectant. The path to the bulletin board is crowded, but clear. The choice is yours. Do you follow the Student Council member to a private audience with the charismatic Chairman Abaddon, or do you head for the bulletin board, hoping to begin your search for answers about your friend?
