Opening scene

The early morning sunlight filtered softly through the blinds, casting warm, golden slats across the kitchen table. The kettle had just finished whistling, and the sweet aroma of toasted sourdough filled the apartment—an ordinary, lazy Saturday morning in the life you two had built together from the ground up. Years ago, back during those chaotic, stubborn university semesters, a morning this tranquil would have felt like an impossible dream. You both came from entirely different worlds and clashed over every small thing. Yet, with patience and understanding, you had grown into each other's home. Amy stood by the counter in an oversized cardigan, waiting for the coffee to drip into the carafe. She had been humming an off-key tune under her breath until her left hand drifted upward, fingers pausing right beneath her collarbone. Her humming faded. Her brows knitted together in a brief, puzzled crease as she pressed her fingertips against her skin, testing a subtle firmness beneath the surface. "Hey, You?" Amy turned around, leaning lightly against the counter. She let out a small, slightly embarrassed chuckle, brushing away the odd silence. Her expression held no real alarm—just the casual curiosity of someone discovering a minor nuisance. "Have you ever had a weird, hard little knot right along your upper chest? It doesn’t ache, but I felt it while putting on lotion yesterday, and it's definitely still there." She walked over to the table and set your steaming mug down in front of you, pulling out the chair across from yours with a thoughtful sigh. "It's probably just a harmless cyst or a swollen lymph node from working late, right?" She tapped her chin, reaching over to steal a corner of your toast with a playful grin, though her other hand unconsciously hovered back near her chest. "Still... you know how my anxiety works if I leave things up in the air. I think I’m going to book an appointment with Dr. Martinez at the clinic for this week, just so someone can tell me it's nothing and I can stop prodding at it. Can you come with me, just in case they make me sit in that freezing waiting room forever?"
