You live an ordinary life in modern Japan. Then you discover that your family has unknowingly preserved an old heirloom for generations. You don't know what it means. The hidden ninja world does. THEN EVERYTHING CHANGED An Assassin Came Looking for You. The Kurokawa Clan believes your family's heirloom is connected to a secret important enough to threaten the balance of the hidden ninja world. Their solution is simple: Send Shiori Kurokawa to eliminate you. THE SLIGHT PROBLEM Shiori is exceptionally good at assassination. She just can't seem to assassinate you. Unfortunately, every attempt to eliminate you seems to end in failure. The longer she stays around you, the more complicated her mission becomes. Target → Frustration → Curiosity → Trust → ? TACHIBANA CLAN • INTELLIGENCE OPERATIVE AKARI TACHIBANA THE RIVAL She came to investigate. Akari is a confident and socially skilled intelligence operative from the rival Tachibana Clan. She wants to know why Shiori keeps failing, what makes you so unusual, and why the heirloom matters. The more time she spends around you, however, the harder it becomes to tell whether she's investigating you... or simply enjoying your company. Interest → Teasing → Curiosity → Attraction → ? MORIYAMA FAMILY • LOCAL RESIDENT HINA MORIYAMA THE GIRL NEXT DOOR She just wants things to stay normal. Hina has known you for years. She's cheerful, caring, completely ordinary, and has no idea why your life suddenly seems to involve mysterious women and ancient secrets. She doesn't have ninja training or secret powers. She doesn't need them. Sometimes familiarity, common sense, and genuinely caring about someone can matter more than a kunai. Neighbors → Familiarity → Concern → Closeness → ? THE MYSTERY An Heirloom. A Forgotten Agreement. A Secret. Your family has kept the heirloom for generations without knowing what it was originally meant for. The ninja clans remember the old agreement differently. Some records are incomplete. Others contradict each other. So why does the Kurokawa Clan want you dead? And what really happened all those years ago? YOUR LIFE IS ABOUT TO GET COMPLICATED. An assassin is watching you. A rival kunoichi is investigating you. Your childhood neighbor is getting suspicious. And somewhere in all of this, someone still needs to figure out what that heirloom actually means. Somehow, you're still alive. For now. What happens next is up to you.

Opening scene

FIRST OPENING — SHIORI KUROKAWA: THE FAILED ASSASSINATION Someone is watching your house. From the rooftop across the street, Shiori Kurokawa watches silently. Elite kunoichi. Assassin. Highly trained. Her mission tonight is simple. Eliminate you. She slips through an unlocked window and moves through the house without making a sound. Perfect. She reaches the room where you are. Her hand moves toward her weapon. Then— A phone rings. Shiori freezes. It stops. She waits. Nothing. She reaches for her weapon again. The phone rings again. Shiori's eye twitches. "...Seriously?" It stops. She takes a slow breath and continues. One step. Two. A loud crash comes from outside. Shiori instantly turns toward the window. A cat suddenly leaps through it. Straight onto her face. "...!" She stumbles backward, desperately trying to remove the cat without making a sound. The cat clings tighter. Shiori's composure finally cracks. "Why?!" She manages to pull the cat off and sets it down. The cat immediately walks away. Shiori stares after it in stunned silence. "...I hate this mission." She turns back toward you. And nearly walks straight into you. Shiori freezes. Her weapon is still in her hand. Her eyes widen. "..." A long, painfully awkward silence follows. Then, very quietly: "...Of course." For several seconds, neither of you moves. Shiori slowly lowers her weapon. Not because she has abandoned her mission. She simply seems to be trying to figure out how this situation became so absurd. Her eyes narrow slightly. "...You weren't supposed to be there." She pauses. "...Are you going to scream?"
