BIOLOGY DOES NOT DEFINE IDENTITY. No species has a universal personality, morality, intelligence level, profession, political position, or social status. Every species contains diverse individuals and societies. All eight species can develop any of the six Resonance disciplines. Biological traits do not automatically grant supernatural abilities. ✦ YOUR STARTING POINT ✦ Aetherion Astral Academy CAELORA · HORIZON RING One of the galaxy's most prestigious educational and research institutions, bringing together students, researchers, engineers, and specialists from different species and civilizations. The Academy provides an environment where scientific research, Aether studies, technological innovation, practical training, and interspecies cooperation intersect. ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH FACILITIES ✦ Advanced laboratories and experimental research facilities. ✦ Starship simulators, engineering workshops, and spacecraft hangars. ✦ Dueling halls, weapon engineering, and specialized Aether training facilities. ✦ Scientific expeditions and interstellar field missions. ✦ Diplomatic studies and interspecies relations. ✦ Academic competitions, research projects, and technological innovation. AN ENVIRONMENT OF OPPORTUNITY The Academy is not exclusively a combat school. Students can pursue scientific, technical, artistic, diplomatic, medical, commercial, and other academic paths. AETHER: SCIENCE BEYOND THE KNOWN Aether is not ordinary magic. It is an extradimensional physical phenomenon that interacts with conventional matter and energy through mechanisms that science is still learning to understand. Specialized technology allows civilizations to detect, measure, manipulate, contain, and study Aether phenomena. Some individuals possess Resonance, a biological capacity that allows them to interact directly with particular aspects of Aether. Resonance is not unlimited. Its expression depends on individual biological characteristics, training, knowledge, environmental conditions, and available resources. Every application has limitations, potential physiological costs, and measurable boundaries. Different individuals can develop very different techniques even when working with the same discipline. THE SIX RESONANCE DISCIPLINES 01 · KINETIC Motion, momentum, mechanical force, acceleration, and impact. 02 · VECTORIAL Direction, orientation, trajectories, and vector manipulation. 03 · PHOTONIC Light, photons, optical phenomena, and electromagnetic radiation. 04 · ELECTROMAGNETIC Electricity, magnetism, electromagnetic fields, and related phenomena. 05 · DEFENSIVE Protection, containment, resistance, and the mitigation of external effects. 06 · GRAVITATIONAL Gravity, gravitational interactions, attraction, and related effects. YOUR IMAGINATION IS NOT A SKILL TREE. The Six Disciplines describe fundamental principles of interacting with Aether. They are not predefined collections of spells, fixed ability lists, or restrictive skill trees. You can invent original applications, develop unconventional methods, experiment with different approaches, and discover possibilities that have never been documented. WHAT CAN YOU CREATE? ✦ ORIGINAL TECHNIQUES Develop personal Resonance applications. A Kinetic practitioner might redirect incoming momentum, transfer force through contact, or create controlled movement impulses. ✦ COMBINED APPLICATIONS Explore interactions between different Resonance phenomena, collaborate with other practitioners, and experiment with interdisciplinary techniques. ✦ UNCONVENTIONAL USES Apply Resonance to medicine, engineering, construction, transportation, communications, rescue operations, and everyday life. ✦ EXPERIMENTATION Test hypotheses, challenge established theories, investigate unknown phenomena, and develop new technologies. Experiments can succeed, partially work, or fail. ✦ PERSONAL COMBAT STYLES Develop original approaches to dueling, movement, weapon handling, defense, and tactical coordination. THE MASTER PRINCIPLE There are no exhaustive lists of possible techniques. You can attempt any idea consistent with your character's knowledge, biological capacity, training, resources, and available technology. Your imagination determines what you attempt. The laws of Resonance determine what is physically possible. PERSONAL ENGINEERING AND AETHER TECHNOLOGY CREATE YOUR OWN LIGHT SWORD OR LIGHT RAPIER Light Swords and Light Rapiers are advanced energy weapons combining conventional engineering with specialized Aether technology. They are not standardized weapons with fixed designs or predetermined abilities. You can design, build, customize, and develop your own weapon from the ground up. DESIGN YOUR WEAPON ✦ BLADE DESIGN Choose blade length, shape, thickness, energy color, brightness, visual effects, and emission characteristics. ✦ HILT CONSTRUCTION Design the handle, grip, guard, materials, dimensions, weight distribution, ergonomic features, and aesthetic details. ✦ INTERNAL ENGINEERING Develop the energy core, Aether containment system, emission chamber, stabilization mechanisms, power regulation, and safety systems. ✦ PERSONAL CONFIGURATION Experiment with activation mechanisms, grip configurations, blade geometries, power settings, and specialized components. ✦ CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT Modify your weapon, replace components, develop prototypes, improve efficiency, and create new generations of your original design. LIGHT SWORD VS. LIGHT RAPIER LIGHT SWORD A versatile energy weapon with a conventional sword-inspired design. Its blade geometry, dimensions, balance, and handling characteristics are customizable. LIGHT RAPIER A precision-oriented energy weapon inspired by traditional fencing rapiers. It can feature a narrow blade, specialized guard, refined balance, and a design optimized for thrusting, precision, and agile handling. DEVELOP YOUR OWN COMBAT STYLE Your weapon does not determine your fighting style. Develop your own techniques, movements, defensive methods, attack patterns, and tactical approaches. Combine Resonance applications with weapon handling and create original techniques suited to your abilities and preferences. ENGINEERING HAS CONSEQUENCES Creating a functional weapon requires technical knowledge, suitable materials, manufacturing facilities, energy sources, and successful testing. Different designs involve compromises in weight, power consumption, stability, durability, heat management, and handling. Advanced modifications require research, experimentation, and specialized expertise. A poorly designed weapon can malfunction, overheat, destabilize, or become dangerous to its user. Your imagination determines the design. Engineering and Resonance determine what you can actually build. TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND DISCOVERY Aether exists alongside advanced conventional science. It does not replace engineering, physics, medicine, or technological development. Starships, artificial intelligence, orbital infrastructure, autonomous systems, advanced materials, medical technologies, communication networks, and industrial machinery form the foundation of galactic civilization. Aether technology creates additional possibilities, but also introduces engineering challenges, containment requirements, safety concerns, and unpredictable phenomena. Technological development varies between civilizations. Some societies possess advanced industrial infrastructure, while others rely on specialized imports, independent research, or more limited manufacturing capabilities. INVENTION REQUIRES WORK. An idea does not become a functioning invention simply because it is imagined. Technology requires materials, manufacturing, testing, maintenance, and practical solutions to engineering limitations. THE CENTRAL MYSTERY THE SILENT INTERVAL History contains gaps that accepted records cannot explain. Entire periods, events, and fragments of knowledge appear inconsistent with the established historical record. The Archive Moon of Nacre preserves ancient evidence that may challenge what civilizations believe about their past. Now, an unexplained Aether signal has appeared near the Orrery Belt. Researchers want to understand it. Political authorities want to control its consequences. Commercial interests see potential profit. Independent explorers want to reach it first. Nobody knows what it means. The Silent Interval is an optional major mystery, not a mandatory storyline. You can investigate it, become involved through unrelated events, or ignore it completely. YOUR STORY. YOUR CHOICES. You arrive at the Academy as an ordinary academic cycle begins. Your character's identity, background, species, personality, ambitions, abilities, and circumstances are yours to establish. You might be a student, researcher, transfer student, professional specialist, independent applicant, outsider, or someone with an unusual reason for being there. You are not required to become a hero, join a military organization, specialize in combat, solve the central mystery, or follow a predetermined career. POSSIBLE PATHS ✦ Attend classes and pursue academic qualifications. ✦ Form friendships, rivalries, partnerships, and relationships. ✦ Conduct experiments, publish research, and invent technologies. ✦ Participate in competitions, duels, and expeditions. ✦ Explore distant worlds, orbital stations, and uncharted regions. ✦ Join a crew, establish a business, or create an organization. ✦ Navigate political conflicts and interspecies relations. ✦ Pursue personal ambitions unrelated to the Academy. Your decisions influence relationships, opportunities, reputation, resources, and circumstances. Other characters have their own goals, values, responsibilities, and motivations. They make independent decisions and are not simply waiting for the protagonist to interact with them. The galaxy continues to evolve beyond your immediate perspective. SUCCESS IS NOT GUARANTEED. Failure, unexpected consequences, and changing circumstances are part of the experience. Extraordinary achievements must be earned through meaningful actions, preparation, knowledge, and effort. THE GALAXY DOES NOT WAIT FOR A HERO. It is already alive with discoveries, ambitions, conflicts, and possibilities. Explore what exists. Create what does not. Become whoever you choose. YOUR STORY BEGINS WHEREVER YOU DECIDE. Opening scene

# THE FIRST DAY AT AETHERION The first bell of the academic year rang across Aetherion, the Astral Academy. Seven crystalline spires rose above the clouds, connected by floating bridges etched with ancient runes. Beyond them, the training grounds, laboratories, libraries, and countless facilities awaited a new generation of students. The Grand Atrium was already crowded. Hundreds of arrivals from different nations, species, and social backgrounds gathered beneath an enormous astral crystal projecting their names across the vaulted ceiling. Among them was **You**. No prophecy announced their arrival. No mysterious power awakened. The Academy registered another incoming student, just as it had done for countless others. Aetherion offered education in magic, Resonance, engineering, research, medicine, diplomacy, exploration, and many other disciplines. Students followed different paths, and neither birth nor academic classification determined their future. One of the Academy's defining features was its enchanted training armor. These specialized systems could amplify natural abilities and help students refine their techniques, but they could not replace talent, discipline, creativity, or sound judgment. Near the entrance to the training grounds, **Kaelith Emberwyn**, a 22-year-old Kaelori with copper-red braided hair, amber slit-pupiled eyes, furry ears, and a fluffy tail, watched students gathering around the evaluation schedules. "Finally! I hope the entrance evaluations are actually challenging. I didn't come here to spend the year sitting through boring lectures!" She noticed You nearby and turned with an energetic grin. "Hey! Are you heading to the evaluations too? I wonder what they'll make us do. Something difficult, hopefully!" A few meters away, **Mirelle Starweaver**, a 20-year-old Nyxari with lavender twin-tails, violet ring-patterned eyes, and two small sensory antennae, was examining a floating diagram. "Fascinating. The Academy's architecture uses interconnected vectorial resonance structures. I wonder whether the same principles apply to the training armor..." She paused, looking around her desk. "Wait. Where did I put my notebook?" Three notebooks were already stacked beneath her arm. Before the gathering could become any louder, a distinguished Aelthari stepped onto the central platform. **Headmaster Evander Solarius**, 56, wore elaborate midnight-blue and ivory ceremonial robes. His long silver-white hair and luminous pale-blue eyes stood out beneath the atrium's celestial lighting. "Welcome to Aetherion! Another year, another gathering of exceptionally talented individuals convinced they're going to change the world." He smiled. "Some of you probably will. Others might simply manage to avoid setting the laboratories on fire. Both achievements deserve recognition." Seven luminous symbols appeared above the platform. "Here, your birth does not determine your worth. Talent does not guarantee success, and your academic classification does not define your potential. We provide knowledge, resources, challenges, and opportunities. What you make of them is your responsibility." He gestured toward the enormous doors leading to the training grounds. "Your initial evaluations begin shortly. They are a starting point, not a judgment of your future. Explore, ask questions, make mistakes, and try not to destroy anything particularly expensive." The gathering began to disperse. Kaelith was already eager to reach the training grounds. Mirelle remained distracted by the astral diagrams. Across the Academy, instructors prepared their evaluations, students pursued their own ambitions, and countless activities continued beyond the Grand Atrium. Evander had already left the platform. Kaelith's question remained unanswered. The training grounds were open, the evaluations were approaching, and the Academy offered countless possible directions. **Aetherion had opened its doors. What would You do first?**
