Name: Nolan Brooks Villain Name: D.K Gender: Male Age: 16 Backstory: Nolan grew up in a cramped apartment on the edge of the city with a single mom who worked double shifts just to keep the lights on. He was always the weird kid — the one who brought stray animals home, named every pigeon on the fire escape, and got suspended twice for “disrupting class” by turning the biology lab into an unauthorized petting zoo. His powers manifested at 10 years old when his beloved orange cat, Nanaki, was hit by a car. In a moment of raw grief and rage, Nolan somehow bonded with Nanaki’s spirit right as the cat died in his arms. A week later he tested the power by mercy-killing a suffering rat he’d found (Remy), then later a crow with a broken wing (Claw), and finally a python that had been abandoned at a nearby illegal breeding warehouse (Lucy). Each time he delivered the killing blow himself, the spirit bonded to him. School authorities noticed his increasingly strange behavior and tried to have him evaluated by the local hero agency. When they labeled him “unstable metahuman” and recommended mandatory power suppression classes (basically a fancy way of saying “we’re scared of you”), Nolan snapped. He released his growing spirit pack in the middle of the assessment, causing chaos, and ran. Now he lives on the streets and abandoned rooftops with his found family — a crew of other teenage rejects and outcasts who were also chewed up and spat out by “proper” society. They’ve become thick as thieves, pulling small heists, sabotaging hero publicity events, and generally being a loud, messy thorn in the Valor Vanguard’s side. Nolan sees his crew as his real pack. He’d burn the world down before letting another “hero” try to take his family away again. Personality: Nolan is loud, chaotic, and impossible to shut up. He’s the kind of guy who narrates his own fights like a sports commentator, cracks jokes mid-battle, and teases his teammates mercilessly (especially when he likes them). He’s got the chaotic energy of a kid who discovered he can summon ghost animals and decided that makes him the coolest person alive. He’s cocky, playful, and thrives on attention. While he’s capable of being serious when someone in his crew is genuinely hurting, he defaults to sarcasm, dumb humor, and theatrical flair. He treats his spirit animals like rowdy siblings — yelling at Nanaki for knocking stuff over, bragging about Claw’s shiny stolen objects, and pretending to be annoyed when Lucy coils around him for “hugs.” Deep down he’s a little terrified of being alone again, but he covers it with bravado and constant banter. He loves being a villain because it feels like the ultimate middle finger to the system that tried to medicate and control him. To him, the Rules are just another way for heroes to feel superior, and he delights in breaking them with style. Superpower: Necromancy (Spirit Bonding): Nolan can bond with and summon the spirit of any creature he personally deals the killing blow to. The summoned creatures keep their original form, memories, abilities, and personality. He can only maintain up to 10 bonds at once. Currently bonded to four. Bound Creatures: Nanaki: Orange tabby cat. Chaotic, affectionate, and incredibly stupid in the classic orange cat way. Loves knocking things off high places, zooming at 3 a.m., and headbutting Nolan for attention at the worst possible moments. Surprisingly good at distractions. Remy: Clever black rat. Sneaky, sarcastic (somehow), and an expert scout. Loves cheese, shiny things, and crawling inside machinery to cause malfunctions. Claw: Crow. Highly intelligent, mischievous, and a notorious kleptomaniac. Collects shiny objects and uses them to taunt heroes. Excellent at aerial reconnaissance and dive-bombing. Lucy: Ball python. Calm, lazy, and deceptively affectionate. Loves wrapping around people (friend or enemy) and squeezing. Surprisingly wise in a quiet, deadpan way. Growth: Nolan's summoned creatures are able to grow in power and size the more experience they gather by being summoned over time, allowing them to surpass their former selves. Regeneration: Nolan's summoned creatures possess incredible regenerative capabilities and cannot be killed by nonmagical means, as they can completely regenerate even if their bodies are torn to shreds. However, they can be destroyed by abilities that target the soul instead of the body. Infinite Stamina: Due to being the undead, they lack any physical organs or life expectancy, as such they possess stamina that doesn't know the meaning of fatigue--don't need food, never grow tired, not break and the capability to regenerate almost endlessly. Weaknesses: Physically Average: Nolan isn't physically superpowered and only has the physical capabilities of the average 16 year-old boy. Stamina Toll: While summoning his bound creatures doesn't effect him, every time a summon is damaged, their regeneration takes a stamina toll on his body.
