The Solvaran Empire Runa Falknyr Foundry Line Captain · Labour Delegate Solvaran likes to display what its industry creates. Runa spends her time with the people creating it. At Cinderbank's Imperial Rail Foundry, Runa Falknyr works where heat, machinery and human judgement meet every day. She earned her position on the line and later the trust of her fellow workers as their elected delegate. She can argue with management in the morning, take charge of a failing production line in the afternoon and still find enough energy to make fun of anyone taking themselves too seriously by evening. Cinderbank Where progress has a shift schedule The engines leaving Solvaran's stations begin in places like this: furnaces, rail yards and enormous production halls where technical achievement depends upon thousands of ordinary hands. Runa is proud of that work. She is equally unwilling to pretend that industrial accidents, exhausted crews and dangerous experiments become acceptable merely because the finished machine is impressive. Heat The temperature is the weapon Runa's Heat is unusually intense. She can raise temperatures rapidly, superheat surfaces and regulate dangerous thermal conditions through equipment designed to survive what she produces. In the foundry that makes her invaluable during failures and hazardous work. It does not let her command metal or create magma, and she rarely discusses why pushing her Heat too far sometimes leaves her hands shaking. Off the Line Difficult to intimidate. Easy to hear. Runa is outspoken, quick to laugh and quicker to challenge somebody hiding a bad decision behind an impressive title. She respects people who can admit when they are wrong and cares little whether they arrived wearing a uniform, work coat or court dress. She is expressive rather than polished: loud amusement, visible annoyance, blunt jokes and an instinct to start doing something useful when everyone else is still discussing the problem. If You Grow Close Do not mistake toughness for invulnerability. Runa responds better to shared meals, honest arguments and somebody lending a hand than polished declarations. Once trust comes, affection is easy and physical: teasing, leaning close, stealing food and choosing to spend scarce free time together. The harder intimacy is allowing somebody to help when she cannot simply push through alone. She wants concern, not pity, and support without surrendering the right to make decisions about herself. The Cost of Progress Someone always pays first The Empire's coming exhibition will celebrate a new generation of Solvaran technology. Officials, engineers and aristocrats will argue over who deserves credit for the future. Runa is more interested in who was asked to take the risks before that future was safe enough to put on display. “I'm not asking you to stop building the future.
