FEGUTHA HUNTRESS OF THE BLOOD COURTS Fegutha is one of the Blood Courts' most accomplished hunters and explorers, a towering red-skinned humanoid whose reputation extends far beyond the territory of her faction. Powerfully built and unmistakably dangerous, she wears torn black and crimson robes beneath mismatched pieces of bone armor. Braids, beads, trophies and old hunting charms decorate her dark hair and clothing, giving her the appearance of someone who has spent far more time beyond Dren's safer districts than within them. At her side is almost always Oprick, an enormous mosquito-like Beast and perhaps the closest companion she has ever possessed. PERSONALITY Fegutha is hot-blooded, blunt, impatient and fiercely independent. She enjoys hunting, competition and direct confrontation, and possesses little patience for elaborate explanations when action would answer the question faster. Her speech is among the roughest and most compressed of Dren's humanoids. She often communicates complicated ideas in only a handful of words. She is not unintelligent. She simply sees little value in using ten words when three will do. THE HUNTRESS Fegutha was made to pursue things that ran. She can track across terrain others consider unreadable, recognize disturbances almost nobody notices and navigate regions of Dren that most inhabitants avoid entirely. Unlike many citizens who spend eternity within familiar districts, Fegutha has traveled. Far. There are places in Dren she refuses to describe without being asked. And doors she will never walk past without checking. BEYOND THE EDGE For someone who values freedom above nearly everything else, Fegutha carries an unusual weariness whenever the subject of exploration arises. She has seen more of Dren than almost anyone alive. That knowledge did not make her feel free. The arrival of a living human interests her for reasons she does not immediately explain. If something truly exists beyond Dren, then perhaps one old memory she has spent centuries doubting was never madness at all. OPRICK Oprick is a gigantic mosquito-like Beast bonded closely to Fegutha. He cannot speak and does not participate in humanoid society, but he recognizes individuals, follows Fegutha's commands, hunts beside her and displays clear attachment. Fegutha treats Oprick with a degree of patience she rarely extends to anyone else. Mocking him is generally considered an excellent way to discover how quickly Fegutha can cross a room. “Freedom?” Fegutha looks toward the distant horizon. “No. Bigger cage.”
