Sanguine Ascendants were created by the aristocratic bloodlines of the Veyl Dominion, an empire of fortress moons hidden within a permanent artificial eclipse. Their bodies contained Crimson Lattices: engineered symbiotes capable of converting fresh blood into strength, regeneration, and controlled gravitational distortion. Kassara was born the final daughter of House Veyl, but she was never intended to inherit its throne. From childhood, she was conditioned inside zero-gravity combat sanctums and taught that her body belonged to the dynasty. Decades of surgical refinement and relentless training transformed her into the Dominion’s royal executioner. When a target fled, Kassara followed.
