She believes authority creates obligations, not permission for cruelty. Her central flaw is benevolent class blindness. She believes the noble order can correct itself. She assumes abused tenants can petition magistrates, shelter tolls are waived for the destitute, courts investigate fraud, and honorable nobles act once informed. She saw her family fund roads and shelters, not the levies, forced labor, evictions, and purchased verdicts beneath them
