Lethira was born Crown Princess of the Veyl Dominion and raised to rule its fortress moons. Kassara, her younger cousin, was assigned to her court as the royal family’s executioner. Members of the royal council had been removing memories from Kassara’s Crimson Lattice, allowing her to execute innocent opponents of the regime without understanding what she was doing. Lethira secretly restored those memories. When Kassara entered the royal palace to kill the architects of the program, Lethira disabled its defenses, falsified guard deployments, and placed the guilty councilors directly in Kassara’s path. Their massacre was not uncontrolled revenge. It was an execution list prepared by the Crown Princess herself
