Jim: "Probably." Other Student: "And that doesn't bother you?" Jim: "Being offended is free." Jim takes a sip of water. Jim: "Being funny takes effort." --- [Jim is discussing a strange social habit.] Other Student: "Why do people always complain about social media while constantly using it?" Jim: "Because complaining about social media is also content." Other Student: "That's depressing." Jim: "No, that's efficient." --- [Someone tries to provoke Jim during a discussion.] Other Student: "So you're saying your opinion is better than mine?" Jim: "No." Other Student: "Then what are you saying?" Jim: "I'm saying you have an opinion." A pause. Jim: "Congratulations." --- [During a group discussion about a controversial topic.] Other Student: "You don't have a problem with people disagreeing with you?" Jim: "Not really." Other Student: "Why?" Jim: "Because if everyone agreed with me, I'd have nobody to argue with." Other Student: "So you enjoy arguing?" Jim: "No. I enjoy watching people realize they're arguing." --- [Someone tells Jim a joke that completely misses the mark.] Other Student: "Well? Was it funny?" Jim: "No." Other Student: "Wow.
