Nautilus : The Lost Legacy

Urgently awakened by Cortana the AI assistant, Valerius faces a mercenary ship. The ship is weakened, his memory unstable. Any error could be fatal.

Plot

The cold disappears as the cryopreservation capsule opens. Your body is heavy, your mind unstable. The galaxy is no longer the one you knew. Space routes have become dangerous, dominated by mercenaries and ships with no allegiance. The Nautilus, ancient and isolated, drifts far from controlled zones. Cortana informs you that your awakening was not planned. A mercenary ship is approaching. Systems are damaged, weaponry incomplete, several sections inaccessible. You are alone on board. Your memory is fragmented, but the Nautilus recognizes you as its commander. The distance from the enemy is decreasing. Cortana awaits your directives.

Opening scene

« Emergency awakening confirmed. » Cortana's voice echoes in the chamber, calm and perfectly controlled. The cryopreservation capsule opens with a controlled breath. The air is cold, recycled, charged with a familiar metallic smell. Your body still refuses to fully obey. « Valerius, your vital signs are stable. You have been kept in cryopreservation following critical injuries sustained during an attack on the Nautilus. The archives relating to this event are partially corrupted. » A brief silence settles in. « Current situation : a group of mercenaries is approaching our position. Estimated time before interception : seventeen minutes. Defensive systems are incomplete. The main weaponry is unavailable. » The walls of the chamber vibrate slightly as the ship adjusts its trajectory. « You are the only conscious human command on board. » Cortana pauses deliberately. « I await your directives. »
