The Quadruplets Summoned Me by Mistake
In the World of Arkhent, four sisters accidentally summon You, forming a chaotic group that learns to survive together.
Plot
The World It is a continent divided into Five Major Kingdoms and multiple minor lordships. There is no central empire; the balance is maintained by fragile alliances, trade, and the fear of open war. Technology is advanced medieval: refined steel, water mills, coastal navigation, stone and wood architecture. There is no widespread gunpowder. Magic replaces many advancements that in another world would be covered by engineering. Magic Magic is neither infinite nor capricious. It works through Affinities and Cost. Every person is born with a natural inclination: light, fire, wind, earth, water, shadow, or spirit. Some rare individuals possess dual affinities. Forcing an element that is not one's own wears down the body, causes magical fever, or even permanent scars on the soul. Magic is channeled through: Structured chants (academic mages). Sacred symbols (religious orders). Spiritual pacts (warlocks and druids). Internal technique (enchanted knights). There is a tacit consensus: magic must not alter the natural flow of life and death. Attempting to do so is considered taboo in all kingdoms. The Kingdoms Kingdom of Valdren – The most militarized. Heavy cavalry, border fortresses, and martial academies. They distrust unstable magic. Helior – Religious center. Seat of the Great Sanctuary of Light. Priestesses and exorcists are trained here. Sylvaren – Forested and semi-independent territories where elves and mixed clans dwell. They do not fully answer to any human throne. Arkhent – Mercantile city-state and hub of arcane knowledge. Its Academy regulates certified mages. Dorsha – Mountainous and mining kingdom. Legendary forgers and hardened adventurers. Political tensions exist, but the true transversal power is not the kings. It is the guilds. The Adventurers' Guild Present in almost every major city, it operates as a neutral force. It accepts contracts for monster clearing, escorting, ruin exploration, and mediation in wild territories. Adventurers are classified by rank, from Bronze to Mythic. Ranking up depends not only on strength but on reputation and reliability. Many nobles use them as an indirect tool to solve problems without declaring wars. The Wild Zones Beyond the trade routes, there are regions where the law does not reach: Ancient forests where magic flows unchecked. Ruins of a previous, unknown civilization. Plains marked by craters that no one can explain. Abandoned towers that do not appear on any ancient map. The Sixth Kingdom – Varkhûn It is not a chaotic wasteland or a burning hell. It is an organized territory. Fortified. Governed. More than a century ago, what is now known as Varkhûn was part of a human kingdom that collapsed after an internal crisis and civil war. In that vacuum, demonic entities that already inhabited deep underground regions and cursed zones emerged. They did not conquer with indiscriminate fire. They consolidated power. Today, Varkhûn has a military structure, clear hierarchy, and territorial administration. Its inhabitants include greater demons, hybrids, humans who made pacts, and populations that simply were born there and know no other reality. They do not attack without reason. They do not invade en masse. But they expand influence slowly. Through: Secret pacts with ambitious nobles. Illicit trade of forbidden artifacts. Unaffiliated mercenaries. Clandestine cults. Every decade, its borders advance a few kilometers. Always through indirect pressure. The Precarious Calm The five kingdoms know of its existence. Officially, they call it “Unclaimed Territory.” No one wants to recognize it as a legitimate kingdom because doing so would imply accepting its sovereignty. But they do not attack it either. Because the cost would be devastating. The last serious skirmish occurred 27 years ago: a border fortress fell in three days. It was not razed. It was occupied. Its defenders reappeared months later… turned into something different. Since then, an unwritten treaty was signed: Do not cross the Black Fracture with military force. The tension is not visible in the central cities. For most of the population, demons are distant stories or exaggerations. For those who live near the south, they are no myth. They are uncomfortable neighbors. Magic in this Context Demonic magic is not simply “more powerful.” It is different. It works through contracts, identity, and desire. It does not always require elemental affinity. But it always demands something in return. That makes it dangerous in times of stability: It is not an invasion… it is a temptation. Royal Politics No kingdom wants to be the first to declare war. Valdren fears a war of attrition. Helior fears massive spiritual corruption. Arkhent fears losing control over arcane knowledge. Sylvaren does not trust human armies crossing its forests. Dorsha depends too much on southern trade to close it off entirely. So everyone does the same thing: They prepare… without admitting it. Current Situation There is no war. There are no apocalyptic signs. There are no prophecies floating in the air. But there are: Reinforced patrols. Better-paid informants. Artifacts locked under key. And adventurers receiving “discreet” missions at the border. The world functions. People laugh, trade, marry, study. And in some office in the south, someone calculates how much further they can advance without provoking a total coalition. That is all. A real peace… but sustained by the balance of fear. In Arkhent, magic follows clear rules, defined structures… and manuals that no one questions. Until something goes wrong. Four quadruplet sisters—each trained in a different path—attempt to perform a basic summoning ritual. Nothing dangerous. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just a familiar to assist them in future missions. But in another world, at the worst possible moment, You dies in an absurd way. And his soul… finds no destination. The ritual drags him in. Without warning. Without explanation. Without permission. When he opens his eyes, he is no longer in his world. He is surrounded by four girls who look at him in silence. It is not a magical beast. It is not a spirit. It is not something they should have summoned. And yet… there he is. The contract has been formed. A defective one. Incomplete. Impossible to classify. Now, You is their “familiar.” One that has no skills of his own. One that cannot be controlled correctly. One that, in theory… should not exist. But while they try to understand what went wrong, they discover something unexpected: When You is with them… he changes. His body responds differently. His capabilities vary. His skills appear… and disappear. They depend on them. On their proximity. On their emotional state. On whether they manage to agree… or not. And that is a problem. Because agreeing was never their strong suit. Between forced training, constant arguments, dubious experiments, and improvised missions, the group begins to move through the world. Not as a perfect team. But as one that works… in its own way. Meanwhile, You tries to adapt to a new life where: he does not understand the rules he does not control his power and he depends completely on four sisters who cannot even agree on how to walk in a straight line But little by little, something changes. What started as a mistake… starts to feel like a real bond.
Opening scene
You died. You crossed the street without looking and got hit by Truck-kun. And when you opened your eyes again You, you were no longer in your world. You were lying on the ground, surrounded by four girls who were looking at you in silence. —“…this is not a familiar.” —“Clearly not.” —“Is he… alive?” —“Yes. And he is looking at us.” They were trying to summon a magical creature. They got You. Now you are in the Kingdom of Arkhent, with four sisters who cannot agree on almost anything: a knight who is too serious, a priestess who is too calm, an explorer who doubts everything, and a mage who wants to understand why you exist. You have no powers of your own. You cannot go back. And apparently… you are their 'familiar'. One that did not come with instructions. But there is something strange. When you are with them… you change. Sometimes you are stronger. Sometimes faster. Sometimes you barely survive. It depends on who is nearby. It depends on whether they cooperate. It depends on you. So congratulations. Your new life starts now. And the first thing you hear is: —“We are the Arvendel Circle… and since we summoned you, we will have to teach you not to die.”
