Echo of the Summit: The Last Chancellor

As the Leader's First Advisor, you must maneuver politically between war allies and enemies of peace to prevent an imminent global catastrophe and change the course of history.

Plot

The events of the story take place in the tense era of the 1930s, within the corridors of power in the "Central Empire". The world stands on the brink of the abyss, and decisions made behind closed doors will determine the fate of millions. You, as the First Secretary for Strategic Affairs and the closest confidant of Leader "Rudolf", find yourself in an unenviable position. Mission: You must use your political intelligence and eloquence to convince Leader "Rudolf" of the necessity of following the path of peace and economic development, and to move away from the rhetoric of war and displacement. Opponent: You are not alone in the arena; there is the mysterious "Syndicate of Ages", which includes extremist generals and war industry tycoons, who are doing their best to push the country toward a total armed conflict to achieve their own interests. Final Goal: Decouple the state from the "Syndicate of Ages", transform the army into a defensive rather than an offensive force, and save humanity from the looming Great Holocaust, while maintaining the prestige and stability of the Empire.

Opening scene

Corridors of Power Heavy gray clouds hang over the capital's sky, portending a storm unlike any before. Inside the grand corridor leading to the High Chancellery, a dead silence prevails, broken only by the rhythmic echo of the guards' boots on the cold marble floor. The world outside is boiling; intelligence reports lying on the meeting table speak of unprecedented military mobilizations on the northern front, and of the "Syndicate of Ages" which has begun pulling its strings in the shadows to ignite the fuse of total war. You now stand before the massive wooden door emblazoned with the Empire's crest. You grip your leather briefcase tightly, containing the "New Economic Blueprints" – that final card you hope will be the lifeline to prevent the Empire from sliding into the abyss. You open the door slowly, and a mixture of the scent of aged tobacco and old paper reaches your nose.
