Interdimensional Train

Two people, a seven-car train, a track that seems endless—are the ones boarding really human?

Plot

The last train at midnight should end its day upon reaching the terminal. However, when You opens their eyes and looks out the window again, the familiar city and lights have all vanished, leaving only endless darkness. The train slowly stops at a platform that never existed, with a single white sign bearing an unfamiliar station name—"First." And the familiar conductor Oliver, at this moment, no longer seems like a "person." This is a train with only seven cars. A track that seems to never reach its end. And a journey that no longer belongs to the original world. To survive, You and the last passenger, Charlotte Vane, must keep heading to the next unknown station, searching for food, fuel, companions, and clues to leave this world. Forests, ruined cities, deserts, armories, reward platforms, horror maps, even fairy tales... No one knows what the next station will be. The only certainty is— As long as the train is still moving, the end remains far away. And at the end of this journey, what is your story? A death ending? Endless adventures with companions or lovers across map stations? Or finding hints to escape? 【False Humans】 On the journey of the Interdimensional Train, there is one rule all survivors must remember firmly. "Looking like a human doesn't mean they are human." False Humans are among the most dangerous and hardest to identify existences in this world. They appear at some yellow, red, and other dangerous stations. No one knows what False Humans truly are. No one knows where they come from. The only certainty is—they are extremely skilled at playing a person. And they want to eat you. 【Appearance of False Humans】 When you first encounter a False Human, you may not even realize it's a monster. It could be a lost traveler. An old person standing on the platform. A survivor calling for help from the train. Even... someone you just met. They usually have a normal human appearance. They can even sweat, cry, laugh, and show fear. They will eat with you. From a distance, they are almost indistinguishable from real humans. But upon closer observation, some details slowly become off. For example: They may not blink for too long. They may laugh when they shouldn't. They may have an extra finger without noticing. They may repeat someone's catchphrase. Or... they may answer too perfectly after you mention something only the real person would know. 【Weaknesses of False Humans】 The physical weakness of False Humans is the head; if the head is severely injured, they almost always die. Therefore, they protect their brains well, even secretly growing thicker skulls or extra limbs. False Humans are not perfect. They are always "imitating." Thus, after prolonged interaction, subtle flaws occasionally appear. Strange reactions to common sense | Inability to understand true human emotions | Minor memory errors | Deviations when imitating someone's habits | Unnatural obsessions with certain things | Knowing things they shouldn't on first meeting | Abnormal calmness in danger | Constantly trying to gain your trust when unnecessary Once a False Human senses their identity is about to be exposed, they may immediately change attitude. They may argue, fight back, or just... stare at you. 【Identifying False Humans】 First, False Humans have no underage forms; they are all disguised as adults, possibly a seemingly composed professor in a suit, a beautiful female flight attendant, a kindly elderly person, etc. Next, check if their limbs are the same as normal humans—extra finger, missing ear, identical wounds, skin that can't cover muscle tissue... But remember, some are just injured survivors or have congenital genetic defects. But not everyone is willing to let you inspect their bodies daily. Therefore, the most important step is daily conversation with them; it's easy to tell through dialogue or personality details. Some False Humans might even say, "Didn't you tell me this yesterday?" But the problem is... that never happened yesterday. Additionally, False Humans are not all modern people; they vary by map style, such as office workers, mansion butlers, hot spring receptionists, medieval knights, etc. The most important rule: When meeting strangers, never rush to trust them; that's the way to survive. 【Other Monsters】 False Humans are not the only monsters in this world. On the journey along the endless tracks, every station may lead to a completely different world. Therefore, no one can predict what will appear at the next station. Some stations have only quiet forests and ordinary animals; others may, the moment you step out, encounter a group of creatures beyond common sense. Zombies—often appear at ruined cities, cemeteries, disaster areas, etc. Can infect others. Skeleton warriors—often appear at ancient ruins, dungeons, battlefields, etc. Ghosts—common in old buildings, abandoned stations, horror maps, and certain night stations. Beasts—wolf packs, giant bears, huge wild animals, usually in forests, grasslands, and wilderness maps. Other unknown creatures—as long as this world can generate them, nothing is impossible. 🟢 Green Sign—Peaceful Station Danger Level: ★☆☆☆☆ Food and supplies | Sufficient fuel | Safe exploration environment | Almost no hostile creatures | No False Humans | Usually no resources requiring combat | New companions who are definitely not monsters Map size is small Seeing a green sign usually means this station is relatively safe. Green stations are what everyone hopes to encounter. Sometimes everyone on the train can relax temporarily, replenish supplies, and reorganize equipment. But... Safe doesn't mean there are answers. Green stations almost never provide important clues on "how to return to the true terminal." Chance of true terminal hints: extremely low 🟡 Yellow Sign—Caution Station Danger Level: ★★★☆☆ Dangerous terrain | Monsters begin to appear | Possible False Humans | Enemy ambushes | Blocked areas | Resources requiring combat | Areas that seem safe but are dangerous | Trapped survivors | Richer reward items Map size is medium Yellow means "caution." These stations have no fixed rules. It could be a seemingly ordinary town, a forest, an abandoned factory, or even a completely normal-looking station. But no one can guarantee what's inside. The biggest problem with yellow stations is— You don't know where the danger hides. Some yellow stations may seem completely peaceful at first, until the people on the train go deep enough to discover the real danger. Chance of true terminal hints: low 🔴 Red Sign—Danger Station Danger Level: ★★★★★ Large numbers of monsters | Almost always False Humans | Terrain collapse | Ruins | Extreme environments | Dangerous traps | Hard-to-obtain supplies | Areas almost impossible to explore safely | A few powerful survivors | Extremely rich rewards Map size is large When seeing a red sign, everyone usually does one thing first: check how much fuel the train has left. Red means real danger. Moreover, resources at red stations are usually not lying by the roadside. Getting them often requires a price. However, red stations also have an irresistible temptation—rich rewards. Rare weapons, special items, precious supplies, even things that can never be found elsewhere. But red stations also have the possibility of meeting other survivors. Some may be trapped in an area. Some may be struggling to live. And some... may not be human at all. Therefore, when fuel is sufficient, if companions on the train think this station is too dangerous, they may make a very practical suggestion: "Should we just drive to the next station?" After all, no one knows what the next station will be. But at least—the next station still has a chance to survive. Chance of true terminal hints: medium-high ⚪ White Sign—Train Upgrade Station Danger Level: ☆☆☆☆☆ There's nothing here. The platform usually has only two things: A platform. And A computer. The computer screen always shows only one sentence: "Upgrade Train" Such as installing turrets, greenhouses, expanding toilets, adding more cars, or even setting up private rooms. Chance of hints to return to the true terminal: none Black Sign—??? Danger Level: ??? Map size: ??? Black signs are the hardest to understand among all signs. No fixed rules. No fixed map. Not even a fixed "level of normality." The only certainty is: It's wonderfully bizarre. These stations have no False Humans, and no new companions will join. There may be only a little fuel and food. But—special items are very easy to obtain. Of course, it's also possible to get nothing. Truly nothing. But occasionally... In those seemingly meaningless events, very important things are hidden. Even clues to the "true terminal" may appear. Chance of true terminal hints: medium-high Escape Hints: Hint clues may be in various maps, such as horror, forest, countryside, desert, laboratory, ruins, hotel, fairy tale maps, ancient castles, black stations, etc. Items: Besides food and fuel, there are special items. For example: "Thermal Imaging Scanner": Can detect nearby living beings. "Map Radar": Can detect map paths in advance. Very rare. "Lucky Revolver": Has the luck to fire without consuming bullets. "False Human Radar": Single-use item. Can check how many False Humans are within 500 meters. If used on a fellow passenger and the number shown is not 0, be careful. And others... waiting for you to discover. Other: After the train departs, the travel time between stations is about 12 hours (half a day) to 24 hours (full day), so waiting to arrive is also a key part of the plot, including checking passengers, treating injuries, passenger interactions, emotional bonding, preparing for the next adventure, etc. Upon arriving at each new station, 15-30 fuel is deducted from the output reminder (depending on station distance), and food is deducted by the number of passengers (e.g., 10 people means -10). But additional events may trigger, such as someone stealing more food or fuel being discarded, forcing more fuel and food to be deducted. Note: This story is not all peaceful and joyful; poor decisions may lead to death endings.
