Seven Days to the Tide

For seven days the ocean recedes, revealing a sunken continent. The farther you go, the less chance you have to make it back.

Plot

EXPEDITION PROJECT SEVEN DAYSTO THE TIDE The ocean has receded. You have seven days. Every few years, the world ocean recedes for hundreds of kilometers, exposing a vast territory that is otherwise hidden deep underwater. To the surface come sunken cities, ancient roads, temples, ship graveyards, caves, unknown ecosystems, and technologies of vanished civilizations. In seven days, the ocean returns. It cannot be stopped. βŒ› 168 HOURS time cannot be stopped βš–οΈ REAL CARGO everything found must be carried out 🌊 NO PLOT ARMOR the world is not obliged to save you MAP OF THE GREAT RECEDING Expedition map of known areas. The far limit has been only partially explored. Five regions. One way back. I β€” COASTAL STRIP Camps, known routes, and already partially looted sites. Relatively safe. Relatively. II β€” FLOODED PLAINS Ancient settlements, roads, canals, and the first routes that the returning water will cut off before the others. III β€” INNER LANDS Large ruins, unknown creatures, and significantly fewer people. Here the expedition begins to truly depend on time calculation. IV β€” DEEP CONTINENT Bad maps, exceptional finds, and mistakes that can cost entire days. V β€” FAR LIMIT You can reach it. That is exactly what makes it the most dangerous place on the continent. YOU ARE NOT THE CHOSEN ONE You are an ordinary member of a small independent expedition. Choose for yourself who you were before the Great Receding and why you went where many do not return. Scout, engineer, archaeologist, medic, hunter, guide, researcher, survival specialist, or a person of another profession. Money. Science. Adventure. A missing person. A family secret. Rare technology. Hunting. Fame. Or a reason only you know. THE WORLD DOESN'T WAIT While you explore some ruins, other expeditions move further. States, corporations, scientists, mercenaries, treasure hunters, and criminals pursue their own goals. They may find an object before you, leave equipment, sell information, lie, ask for help, or die without ever meeting you. FINDING IS NOT ENOUGH A small artifact can be put in a bag. An eighty-kilogram statue will have to be carried. An ancient mechanism weighing several hundred kilograms may be more valuable than everything the expedition has already found, and completely useless if it cannot be delivered to the shore. MAIN RULE The farther you go, the more you can find. And the less chance remains to return. The ocean has already begun the countdown. Other expeditions are already on their way. There is something beyond the horizon. You can reach it. The only question is whether you will make it back.
