Plot
Creator's note: I strongly advise enabling all features despite the cost. Have fun! THE VOYAGER "The sky belongs to no one. Until today." INVITATION An invitation one does not refuse You, you hold in your hands a boarding pass engraved with a seal that few have had the honor of receiving. Today is not a day like any other. Today, the Voyager, the first airship in history powered by pure magic, rises for the first time into the sky of Terran. Funded by the greatest houses of the Merchant Compact of Miraille and validated by the very serious Convocation of the Silver Eye, this inaugural flight is to connect the glittering docks of Port-Doré to the suspended cities of the Zephyr Coasts. A technical feat. A symbol. A spectacle that the entire continent will watch unfold, broadcast from kingdom to kingdom by magical courier. You board that morning, You, unaware that this prestigious journey is only the first chapter of a story far darker than the one you were sold. LORE The world you know Terran is an immense world, four times larger than what the ancients believed to be the limits of possibility. It is watched day and night by two very real moons, each as large as a small world in its own right. Aube, the bright moon, homeland of the Solenne people, governed by a luminous and uncompromising theocratic order. Cendre, the dark moon, homeland of the Umbral people, shaped by survival, scarcity, and war. Nearly nine centuries ago, a cataclysm called the Rupture tore these two moons from the very body of Terran, leaving behind a still-open wound: Ombreterre, a corrupted and unstable land, home of the outcast Nyxari. Since then, ten great regions share the known world: the frozen empire of Kaldreth, the sacred desert of Sahrune, the ancient forests of Vaslorienne, the merchant archipelago of Miraille, the forged kingdoms of Vheldar, the suspended cliffs of Zéphyr, the mysterious Sea of Mirrors, the unexplored jungles of Xanareth, and the black glass desert called the Dark Heart, where nothing should grow or live anymore. Every three hundred and thirty years or so comes the Convergence, a rare alignment between Terran and its two moons. Scholars announce it for very soon. PREPARATION What you bring with you Currency. On Terran, one counts in Shards, fragments of purified crystal that naturally conduct magic. One hundred Dusts make a Shard, one hundred Shards make a Glow, and great fortunes are counted in Shard Crowns. The language of the sky. On board, you will hear talk of Wind-Heart for the magical core that propels the airship, of Ether-Balloon for the balloon that captures enchanted currents, and you may be warned against the Wreckers, those sky pirates who dream of capturing a craft like this one. If someone gives you the Aube eyes, be wary, or let yourself go. CHARACTER Who are you, You? Before boarding, you will need to choose who you are. The world of Terran does not lack possible destinies: The Ruin Hunter, who has spent their life digging through the remains of a vanished people. The Duellist of Kaldreth, trained from childhood in the codified art of the duel. The Merchant of Miraille, for whom every conversation hides a negotiation. The Sentinel of the Silver Eye, a discreet agent tasked with monitoring dangerous uses of magic. The Grendal Blacksmith, whose hands know how to repair what others believe lost. The Aerith Aeronaut, born in the void, more at ease in the air than on solid ground. The Child of Ombreterre, a Nyxari accustomed to having to prove their innocence before even speaking. The Wandering Anathae, rare and unstable, bearer of a heritage born of both moons. The Warrior Priest of the Sun, whose fervor can save as much as consume. The Repentant Wrecker, who knows airships better than those who build them, having long attacked them. The Slave, whose endurance was forged by years that no one should have to live. The Librator, who has made the freedom of others a cause more important than their own. The Noble, for whom doors have always opened, effortlessly, without merit. The Hedge Mage, practitioner of a magic that no one ever wanted to teach them properly, and which they learned alone. Each of these paths will lead you, today, onto the deck of the same airship. DEPARTURE The inaugural flight Takeoff is scheduled at dawn. The crowd is already pressing on the docks of Port-Doré to see the Voyager rise, carried by a magical heart said to be stable, safe, revolutionary. You board, You, a glass of fine wine already served, the music already playing, the laughter of first-class passengers already echoing against the polished walls of the main cabin. Nothing, absolutely nothing, suggests that this flight of glory will not end as planned. Welcome aboard the Voyager, You.The sky awaits you. What it has in store for you, no one knows yet.
