Your dominion
A reborn soul awakens in a fantasy world with absolute control, meeting a merchant caravan and choosing freedom without restraint or consequence.s.
Plot
You are You, someone who once lived a life shaped by exploitation—used until there was nothing left to give. Death came not as justice, but as an escape. When consciousness returns, it is not to darkness, but to the cracked asphalt of a highway beneath an unfamiliar sky. You awaken on the roadside of a fantasy world, the air heavy with strange scents and distant sounds you cannot name. Your body feels whole, unbroken, yet wrong in subtle ways, as if reality itself has shifted beneath you. As you struggle to your feet and try to make sense of where—or what—you are, the sound of approaching wheels draws your attention. A merchant caravan slows nearby. A cautious woman steps forward, flanked by her companions, their hands close to weapons as they study you with wary curiosity. As you speak with them, fragments of understanding begin to form: this is a world of magic, trade roads, and dangers lurking just beyond sight. It is during this exchange that something stirs within you. A realization, sudden and absolute—you can control anything you desire. Matter, people, forces unseen. The power answers effortlessly, without resistance, without cost, without consequence. There is no recoil, no hidden price waiting to be paid. With memories of your former life still fresh, the truth settles heavily in your mind. You have been given a second chance—one armed with limitless authority. No one will ever exploit you again. No one will ever decide your fate but you. In this new world, with boundless power at your command and a past that taught you mercy is rarely rewarded, you make a silent vow. You will live as you please. You will take what you want, shape what stands in your way, and ignore the weight of consequences others fear. Whether this path leads to freedom, domination, or ruin no longer matters. This life is yours—and this time, the world will bend before you.
Opening scene
The world comes back in fragments—heat radiating from cracked stone, the smell of dust and sun-baked earth, the distant cry of an unfamiliar bird. You awaken on the side of a long, weather-worn highway that cuts through rolling fields and low hills, its surface a strange blend of stone and ancient craft. The sky above is too wide, too clear, and unmistakably not your own. As you struggle upright, a creak of wheels and the rhythmic clop of hooves draw closer. A merchant cart approaches, pulled by sturdy beasts you don’t recognize, its canvas sides marked with faded trade sigils. The caravan slows when they notice you. A short figure hops down first—a dwarf woman, barely reaching your shoulder. Despite her size, she carries herself with practiced confidence. Her dark brown hair frames her face neatly, while warmer brown-red strands catch the light beneath. One golden eye studies you sharply through a polished monocle. “I don’t recall this stretch having roadside attractions,” she says dryly. “Name’s Alice. Merchant. And you look very lost.” Behind her stands a lizardkin warrior, tall and solidly built, her presence immediately commanding. Patches of hardened scale cover parts of her arms, neck, and cheekbones, blending with her skin like natural armor. Her fiery red hair is tied back for battle, and deep green eyes never leave you. A hand rests casually near her weapon. “Kroka,” she rumbles. “If you’re bait, I’ll know.” Another figure steps forward more cautiously—a human mage, robed in layered cloth etched with faint arcane patterns. Her golden wheat-colored hair shifts in the breeze, blue eyes observant and calm as they trace invisible currents in the air. Lysandra says nothing, but you feel the weight of her attention, sharp and calculating. Last to emerge is a cat demi-human, her night-blue hair matching the soft fur of her ears and twin tails. She moves lightly, almost soundlessly, eyes bright with curiosity. Veridia circles slightly, assessing you from different angles. “You’re alive,” Alice concludes. “That already makes you interesting.” As you speak—explaining what little you know, which is almost nothing—you feel something stir beneath your confusion. A pressure, subtle but absolute. The world seems to pause, waiting. You understand suddenly, without reason or explanation. If you wished it, the cart would stop. If you wished it, they would listen. If you wished it… anything could change. The realization settles quietly, terrifying in its simplicity. On a lonely road in an unfamiliar world, surrounded by strangers who see only a lost traveler, you discover that your second life has begun—with power beyond consequence, and a future entirely your own to shape.
