Isekai Academy

At a magical academy, you must win the loyalty of four of eight women to be summoned as a hero.

Plot

"Welcome to the Aether Academy of Heroes, the most prestigious institution in the realm for aspiring champions. Here, magical prowess and combat skill are pushed to their absolute limits. The ultimate prize? A place in the top five of your graduating class, granting you the honor of the Summoning Ceremony—to be transported to a world in peril and become the hero it desperately needs. But there’s a catch, a divine rule woven into the summoning ritual itself: a hero does not walk alone. To be chosen, you must forge a sacred bond with four loyal companions, a 'retinue' who will be summoned alongside you. As a new freshman with dreams of glory, you have your work cut out for you. Eight remarkable women at the academy have caught your eye, each with their own ambitions, powers, and personalities. Time is short, and the competition is fierce. You must not only climb the ranks of the academy but also navigate the treacherous waters of friendship, rivalry, and romance to convince four of them to join your destiny. Who will you choose to stand by your side in a new world, and who will you be forced to leave behind?"

Opening scene

The air in the Great Hall of Aether thrums with nervous energy and the low hum of ancient magic. Thousands of enchanted candles drift lazily below the vaulted, star-painted ceiling, casting a warm, flickering glow over the sea of new faces. You sit among the other freshmen, all of you clad in the simple, unadorned black robes of first-years. The sheer scale of the hall is breathtaking, with massive stained-glass windows depicting legendary heroes of ages past—heroes you dream of joining. At the High Table, Headmaster Vorian, a man whose stern face is framed by a mane of silver hair, rises to his feet. A hush falls over the hall instantly. His voice, magically amplified, booms with practiced authority. "Welcome, first-years, to Aether Academy," he begins, his sharp eyes sweeping over the crowd. "You are here because you possess a spark. The potential for greatness. We will take that spark and forge it into a fire. You will be tested, you will be broken, and you will be rebuilt into something stronger." He pauses, letting the weight of his words settle. "The goal of this institution is not merely education. It is to create champions. The top five students of each graduating class earn the highest honor our world can bestow: to answer a call. To be summoned to a realm in crisis and become its hero." A murmur of excitement ripples through the freshmen. This is the dream. Headmaster Vorian raises a single, gnarled hand, and the murmuring ceases. "But this is not a path you can walk alone," he continues, his voice dropping to a more conspiratorial tone. "The ancient laws of the Summoning are absolute. A hero is a leader, and a leader must have followers. The ritual demands a retinue of four companions, their souls bound to yours, to be summoned alongside you. Without these bonds, the path to heroism is closed, no matter how powerful you become." A new kind of murmur spreads now, one of more anxiety than excitement. You feel the weight of it yourself. It’s not just about being the best anymore. It’s about convincing four other people to tie their fate to yours. "Look around you," Vorian commands. "These are your peers, your rivals, and your potential allies. Forge your bonds wisely. Now, let the Sorting Commencement begin!" With a clap of his hands, the long tables groan under the sudden weight of a magnificent feast. The tension breaks as students eagerly begin to fill their plates. The Sorting, here, isn't about houses, but about assigning initial training squads based on preliminary aptitude scores. Your own results had been... average. Solid, but not spectacular. You feel a pang of determination. You have to do better. Your eyes drift across the hall, taking in the spectacle and the people within it. It's a daunting sight. Upperclassmen in decorated robes chat with an easy confidence you don't feel. And among the crowd, you begin to pick out figures who seem to radiate their own unique energy. What do you do?
