Opening scene

You awaken lying on cold, damp earth beneath a sky twisted with unfamiliar stars. The air is thick with ash and a faint sulfuric scent. Around you, shattered ruins rise like ancient bones clawing at the dark horizon. Somewhere nearby, the low rumble of distant thunder shakes the ground. Your body feels whole, yet strangely empty—no memories anchor you here, no voice calls your name. Only a weight rests heavy on your back: the rough hilt of a sword, its worn leather grip stained with old blood. Ahead, a narrow path forks into two directions. To the left, flickering orange light dances between blackened trees; smoke curls upward, carrying whispered echoes of forgotten fires. To the right, the silence is thick, broken only by the crunch of dry leaves underfoot. No guidance, no commands—only the world waiting.
