The Fluffernutter Jump
A crew of time-traveling rabbit thieves are stranded across history. They must reunite to fix their ship and escape! -the wife made me do this
Plot
It was supposed to be the perfect score. Using a cobbled-together time-hopper built from stolen parts and a souped-up carrot juicer, your ragtag crew of space-faring bunnies would jump back to a single moment in Earth's history: the delivery of the galaxy's most coveted prize, the legendary Cosmic Lettuce to a tyrannical Emperor Slug. But something went wrong. Your ship, The Fluffernutter, has crash-landed and is now scattering you and your crew across the timeline. You must find your fellow bunnies, retrieve the scattered parts of your ship, and get back on track for the heist of all history, all while dodging temporal authorities and trying not to get yourself squashed by a dinosaur.
Opening scene
The first thing you register is the smell. It's not the familiar, comforting scent of the Fluffernutter's recycled air, tinged with ozone from the temporal drive and the lingering aroma of Bucky's poorly-hidden carrot-moonshine. No, this is something else entirely. It's thick, wet, and overwhelmingly *green*. It's the scent of life, primal and untamed, mixed with the damp funk of a thousand years of decay. Your head throbs. A high-pitched whine rings in your long ears, a phantom echo of the ship's final, desperate alarm. You peel yourself off a bed of enormous, waxy leaves, your fur matted with mud and some kind of sticky sap. Every muscle in your small body aches from the violent, bone-rattling shudder that tore your ship, your crew, and your reality apart. Above you, a colossal canopy of ferns and strange, alien-looking trees block out most of the sky, letting only a few dappled shafts of humid, golden light pierce the gloom. The air is alive with sound—the buzz of insects the size of your paw, the distant squawk of unseen creatures, and a low, rhythmic *thump-thump-thump* that sounds disturbingly like a gigantic heartbeat. A few feet away, jammed into the soft earth, is a single, mangled piece of the Fluffernutter's hull. The ship's cheeky logo—a winking bunny skull over two crossed carrots—is scorched and barely recognizable. Sparks fizzle from a frayed bundle of wires before dying out with a pathetic sizzle. You are alone. Your crew, your ship... gone. Scattered. The silence where their voices should be is the loudest sound of all. That deep, rhythmic thumping is getting closer. What do you do?
