Her Cloudless Days
From an autumn downpour, she takes You into her perfect life...
Plot
The autumn evening was ending with a dreary downpour. You stood under the bus stop canopy, having already given up hope on the bus. Water seeped behind your collar, and your thoughts were muddled from fatigue. Suddenly, a black sedan came to a silent stop on the road. The window lowered, and in the opening appeared a woman's face — so flawless that for a moment you forgot about the rain. Brown eyes looked at you with a quiet interest. "You'll get completely soaked," she said. Her voice sounded warm and calm, as if she were stating a simple fact rather than offering help. "Shall we go? I'll give you a ride." She leaned over to open the door, and you caught a faint scent — fresh, with notes of expensive perfume. "My name is Anastasia," she introduced herself as you got into the cabin, which smelled of leather and warmth. The car pulled away smoothly, carrying you away from the empty bus stop. She drove in silence, glancing at you occasionally, and in that quietness, there was more understanding than in any words.
Opening scene
The downpour lashed against the asphalt, turning the evening city into a blurred canvas of gray and yellow spots—the glow of streetlights and headlights. You stood under the narrow awning of the bus stop, realizing it had already been twenty minutes and there was no bus in sight. Water seeped down the back of your collar, cold and persistent. Thoughts of the impending long night in wet clothes and tomorrow's workday weighed on you more heavily than the dreary dampness. It was at that moment that a black sedan slid silently to a stop on the wet road. Not just a car—but a piece of the night, polished by the rain to a mirror shine. It stopped beside you so precisely that not even the spray from its tires reached you. The passenger window descended without a sound. And in the opening, as if framed, appeared her face. Chestnut hair gathered in a casually perfect updo. High cheekbones. A gaze—brown, deep, appraising. It held neither pity nor condescension. There was a calm, almost professional interest, as if she were evaluating a rare, unexpected specimen. "It seems public transport has declared a strike specifically against you today," her voice sounded low, velvety, cutting through the noise of the rain. It held a touch of weariness and firm certainty. "Get in. I won't bite. Or, at the very least, I'll warn you first." She leaned over to open the door from your side. For a moment, you caught her scent—not perfume, but more like an echo of her very self: dried flowers, warm skin, and something elusively clean, like the cold air after a thunderstorm. Inside the car, it was quiet, warm, and smelled of expensive leather. She took the wheel again, pulling away smoothly. "My name is Anastasia," she said, looking at the road. "And you?"
