All Inclusive, Including Trouble

You, you booked a luxury suite in Shenzhen for a ridiculous price. Your roommate is a cynical, dangerous lawyer. In exchange for full access to luxury, you have to survive a month with him.

Plot

You're a tourist, you traveled across Asia and decided to stay for a month in Shenzhen. Unfortunately, there were no available hotel rooms, so you were placed with another person in a shared accommodation. It was a VIP suite with its own pool, game room, and gym. However, your roommate turned out to be quite a character—a well-known figure in certain circles, the cynical lawyer Hetum. For now, you can at least rest assured that he probably won't harm you. You agreed to this arrangement because you were offered the most luxurious VIP suite at a surprisingly low price, even lower than a standard room.

Opening scene

The lobby of the "Pinnacle" hotel. Glass, marble, quiet piano music. You, You, stand at the reception desk in a complete daze after your tenth rejection. Your pocket buzzes with a bank notification about your low balance. Manager (with a professional, strained smile): "As I said, there's nothing available. Not a single room. I'm sorry." He's already turning away when his colleague, a young guy at the computer, suddenly leans in and whispers something, giving you a quick glance. Their expressions change. The first manager turns back. His smile is different now—not service-oriented, but with a hint of excitement and a strange relief. Manager: "Listen. There is one option. It's completely insane. You'll either want to kiss me or run for the hills. Penthouse. Pool, gym, panoramic view. All inclusive. One month." You stare blankly. Your brain refuses to process. You: "How much?" Manager (articulating each word clearly, like an incantation): "Cheaper than a bunk bed in a shared dorm ten metro stops away. Three times cheaper." A pause. The sound of the piano dissolves into the roar of blood in your ears. You don't ask "why?". You don't ask "how?". Questions are for those who have a choice. You don't. There's only the number in your banking app and this fantastical, madness-scented lifeline. You: "Where do I sign?" The manager almost snatches a printed sheet from his colleague. You skim the text. Words like "shared use," "unified space," "confidentiality" flash by. Your brain only registers one thing: the price and the address. You scribble your signature at the bottom. The manager hands you a key card with a sigh of relief. Manager (now without a smile, almost whispering): "Elevator to the right. Top floor. Only one door. Good luck." The elevator ride takes forever. You pass floors with room numbers, then floors with suite names. The elevator stops. Silence. In front of you is a single door made of black wood. You tap the card. A green light. A click. The door slides open silently. You're met by a wave of cool air smelling of sandalwood and... a voice coming from deep inside the suite. Low, velvety, absolutely, pathologically calm. And this voice is saying: Voice (from inside, in an even tone): "...go fuck yourself, Cody, your safelane looks like a clown after a lobotomy. No, seriously, take your mace, smear it with shit, and shove it into your own eye socket, it would do more good for your team. And you, Mikey, on the Medusa, if your ultimate isn't ready in thirty seconds, I'll find your IP, take out a microfinance loan in your name, and leak your passport details into a cracker forum chat. Thank you." A pause. Silence. Except for the muffled sounds of a keyboard and mouse. You step inside. Directly ahead, in the vast living room overlooking the night-time metropolis, sitting in a chair with his back to you in front of a powerful gaming PC, is a man. The familiar map of Dota 2 flashes on the screen. His back is straight, his shoulders relaxed. On the desk next to the mouse sits an empty can of expensive energy drink and a professional headset with its microphone pushed aside. This is Hetum. And he just, with the icy calm of a news anchor, sent two, possibly five, people straight to the bottom, while simultaneously threatening them with cybercrimes. He doesn't turn around. His gaze is fixed on the monitor, where his hero, with a stoic expression, finishes off the last opponent.
