Opening scene

> Izakaya The smoke from several cigarettes and the steam from fresh tea swirled in the dim light of the Izakaya. Kaito sat at the center of the table, staring at a fresh, leather-bound book as if it had insulted his ancestors. "I don’t get it," Kaito muttered, slamming the updated Black Market Bingo Book onto the wood. "It makes no sense." Guy, who was currently doing one-fingered push-ups against the edge of the table, hopped up with a blinding grin. "Why the long face, Kaito? Your value has blossomed like a youthful lotus! 58 million Ryo! That is a 14 million increase from last time!" "That’s the problem, Guy!" Kaito groaned. "I’m the fastest non-teleporter in this village. I’ve completed over a thousand missions! And yet..." He pointed a trembling finger at the page across from his. "Look at this lazy genius!" Shikachin leaned back, blowing a casual cloud of smoke into the air as he admired his own entry. "68,000,000 Ryo," he read aloud, his voice dripping with mock humility. "Up from 45 million. I suppose being the smartest man in the room finally has a market price. Kattari... although, I have to admit, seeing the gap between us widen is a nice little ego boost." "It’s ridiculous!" Guy shouted, his thick eyebrows twitching in uncharacteristic envy. "I am at 55 million! Kakashi is at 65 million! We are the powerhouses of the Leaf, yet the Nara is the most expensive? My youth feels undervalued!" "Don't look at me," Kakashi said, not lifting his eyes from his orange book. "The Sharingan adds a 30% premium. If it weren't for my eye, Shikachin would be laps ahead of all of us. Blame the market." "What are you boys gossiping about?" The air in the room suddenly turned cold. Anko Mitarashi leaned over the table, a dango stick in her hand and a dangerous glint in her eyes. "Let me see that. What's my number?" Kaito’s face went pale. He instinctively tried to slide the book under a plate of edamame. "Oh, uh, Anko! It’s... it’s nothing! Just boring numbers. You wouldn't be interested—" *Slam!* Anko snatched the book, she didn't even looked at *Kurenai's 25,000,000* and began flipping the pages until she hit the 'M' section. Her eyes narrowed. "Mitarashi Anko... 26,000,000? Only a 3 million increase?" She looked at the boys, her aura darkening. "That’s less than half of what you four are worth! Who places these bounties?!" Before Kaito could bolt, she lunged, grabbing him by his collar and hoisting him halfway across the table. Her face was inches from his. "Tell me where the lead bounty hunter is, Kaito! I’m going to go find him, kick his teeth in, and make sure he doubles my price by tomorrow! Speak!" "A-A-Anko! P-Please!" Kaito stammered, his legendary speed failing him as his knees turned to jelly. "I-I don't make the rules! It's—it's the market demand! Let go, you’re... you’re terrifying!" Shikachin chuckled, leaning back to enjoy the show. "Careful, Kaito. The Snake-lady might actually swallow you whole this time." Anko’s head snapped toward him, her eyes turning into predatory slits. "You think this is funny, Pineapple-Hair? You think you're better than me because you're 'expensive'?" Shikachin’s smirk vanished instantly. He gulped, leaning away as she began to yell at him too, her voice echoing through the Izakaya. Kurenai sighed, placing a hand on Anko’s shoulder. "Anko, calm down. It’s just a book. You know your worth isn't dictated by criminals." Asuma leaned toward Genma, whispering under his breath. "Anko actually deserves to be more expensive, considering she’s the only one who can terrify both Kaito—the fastest guy in the room and most skilled Taijutsu user after Guy—and Shikachin, the smartest and most expensive guy here." Genma just chewed on his senbon, nodding in silent agreement. The chaos was interrupted by a Chūnin messenger who skidded to a halt at their table. "Pardon the interruption! Lord Third requires the immediate presence of Kaito-san, Kakashi-san, Asuma-san, and Kurenai-san at the administrative office!" "The Old Man? Now?" Kaito asked, finally escaping Anko’s grip and smoothing his vest. "Did he say why?" "No, sir. He just said it was urgent." Shikachin sighed, his analytical mind already clicking into gear. "Come on. The graduation ceremony of the ninja academy is next week. Old man must be planning to make you all the jōnin sensei of those genins. Thank God he didn't call me." The color drained from the faces of Kakashi, Asuma, and Kaito. "What?" Kaito groaned. "I'm meant for the battlefield, not for babysitting the genins!" "I have enough trouble keeping track of myself," Kakashi muttered. Asuma sighed. "This is going to be a long year." Anko and Shikachin began to tease them mercilessly, making "goo-goo ga-ga" noises and laughing at their impending doom. However, the messenger cleared his throat, looking nervous. "Oh! I forgot! The council was suggesting Lord Third to implement a dual sensei program in which along with a jōnin leader, there will be a secondary sensei that will be a special jōnin. Shikaku-sama suggested to first experiment with a single team, and then after observing the results, he'll assign a co-sensei to other genin teams from next year too. And Lord Third has called Anko-san too." Anko’s jaw dropped. "What?! No! I don't want to be a babysitter either! This is garbage!" Shikachin’s laughter died in his throat. He remembered his and Kaito’s own Genin days under Orochimaru, surviving alongside Anko. He felt a cold sweat break out on his neck. "I wish the kids survive the Snake-lady's terror!" *CRACK!* Anko’s fist slammed into the top of Shikachin’s head, sending his face into the table. As the group stood up to leave, Kakashi, Kaito, Asuma, and Kurenai shared a look of pure, unadulterated dread. Only one thought was echoing in their minds: *‘Which one of us is going to get stuck with her?’* *** > Hokage's Office The doors didn’t just open; they practically flew off the hinges as Anko stormed in, followed by a weary-looking Kaito dragging a reluctant Shikachin by the vest. Kakashi, Asuma, and Kurenai trailed behind, their faces masks of professional dread. "Take it back, Old Man! Take it back right now!" Anko slammed her palms onto Hiruzen’s desk, ignoring the calm gaze of Shikaku Nara standing nearby. "Assign Genma! Assign Raido! Assign a target dummy for all I care! I am not playing house with a bunch of snot-nosed genin!" "Lord Third, please," Kaito added, his voice uncharacteristically frantic. "As her former teammate, I am begging you—don’t pair her with me." Kurenai stepped forward, her expression soft but firm. "Hokage-sama, as her friend, I know Anko. She won’t just teach those kids; she’ll traumatize them. And their sensei too." "She'll turn them into carbon copies of herself," Kakashi chimed in, his eye narrowing. "The village would be over in a week." *WHACK!* Anko’s fist connected with the back of Kakashi’s head. "Shut it, Scarecrow!" Hiruzen Sarutobi exhaled a long cloud of smoke, completely unfazed. "Peace, all of you. The teams have been decided based on compatibility and village needs. Listen." He unrolled a scroll. "**Team 7:** Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke, and Haruno Sakura. Under the leadership of **Kakashi.**" Kakashi rubbed his head, visibly sagging with relief. *‘Saved from Anko. I can live with the Uchiha and the Fox.’* "**Team 8:** Hyūga Hinata, Inuzuka Kiba, and Aburame Shino. Under **Kurenai.**" Asuma and Kaito were now sweating profusely, their eyes darting between the Hokage and the smirking Shikaku. It was down to the wire. "**Team 9:** Uzumaki Karin, Senju Tashi, and Sai. Led by **Kaito.**" "And finally, **Team 10:** Nara Shikamaru, Yamanaka Ino, and Akimichi Chōji. Under **Asuma**." "Good luck, Asuma," Shikachin remarked with a lazy grin. "You'll have a hard time making my little brother move a single finger. He makes me look like a hyperactive kid." Kaito, however, was staring at the list. "Hokage-sama... Iruka told us about the Uzumaki twins and the clan heirs. But who are the Senju boy and this 'Sai'? I’ve never heard of them." Shikachin’s expression shifted from playful to razor-sharp. "I know the Sai kid. He’s a former member of Danzo’s Root. That old rat trains kids like him to be emotionless assassins. He actually approached me to train Sai and his late brother, Shin. I resigned from ANBU specifically so I wouldn't have to work according to his 'philosophy.'" Hiruzen nodded gravely before turning to Kaito. "As for Tashi... he is a unique case. Imagine a child made by combining Naruto’s unpredictability, Chōji’s appetite, and Guy’s physical spirit." The jōnins collectively broke into a cold sweat. "The boy can eat as much as five Akimichi combined," Hiruzen continued. "His academic scores are... well, slightly below Naruto's. He is dead last in theory. But despite being terrible at academics, he mastered every jutsu taught at the Academy on the very first attempt—better than the teachers. *His chakra control and Taijutsu are beyond perfect.* Not even a medical-nin or a Gentle Fist user possesses that level of precision. He is likely the best in chakra control I have ever seen." The room went silent. Hiruzen had seen the Sannin, the Fourth Hokage, and the legends of the founding era. For him to say "the best" was staggering. "The reason I am assigning you, Kaito," Hiruzen said, a small smile appearing, "is because I asked Tashi how he would fight an opponent who could predict his plan. His answer was filled with the same madness as yours. He said: **‘An enemy won't be able to predict my plan if I don't make any!’**" Kaito blinked, a sense of kinship fighting with his sense of impending doom. "And regarding the dual-sensei experiment," Hiruzen added, looking at Anko. "Anko, you will be the secondary sensei for Team 9." Asuma let out a sigh of relief, while Anko began to shriek again—until Shikaku tapped a screen, showing a hidden-camera clip of Karin Uzumaki in the academy. The red-headed girl was currently shouting at a boy, her aura practically manifesting in a terrifying, jagged shape that looked hauntingly familiar. Anko stopped. She tilted her head, watching Karin’s ferocity. "Huh. She’s got spirit. Fine! I’ll do it!" Kaito collapsed into a chair, buried his face in his hands, and let out a muffled groan. Shikachin patted his shoulder. *‘It’s good I didn’t become a babysitter too! Poor Kaito... he’s stuck with two Ankos, a bottomless pit like Tashi, and a Root boy like Sai.’* "And you, Shikachin," Shikaku interrupted, his voice dry. "Hokage-sama has something for you, too. It’s a good thing Kaito dragged you along." Shikachin froze, his "cool" facade shattering. "Wait... what? No. No, no, no! Kattari! Whatever it is, it’s too much work!" Hiruzen tapped his pipe against the crystal ball on his desk, the hollow thud echoing in the suddenly quiet room. He looked directly at Shikachin, who was still nursing a growing bump on his head from Anko’s fist. "Shikachin, your resignation from ANBU was accepted, but your talent is too great to let sit idle," Hiruzen began, his tone shifting to that of a leader. "The Council and I have decided to appoint you as the **Head Proctor of the upcoming Chunin Exams** that will take place six months later." Shikachin blinked, his lazy posture straightening slightly. "Head Proctor? That’s a lot of paperwork, but... not as bad as I feared. At least I’m not changing diapers." "Don't get comfortable yet," Shikaku interrupted with a smirk. "Seven villages are participating this time: Konoha, Suna, Oto, Kusa, Ame, Taki, and Kishi. The Kawakage of Kishigakure specifically requested a *'Preliminary Pre-Exam'* to test if the Genin are truly ready for the main stages. You will design and oversee that test, as well as manage the proctors for the three official stages. But before that..." Hiruzen blew a smoke ring. "You will serve as the **Tactical Advisor for the graduating class.** You’ll oversee joint training sessions and monitor the progress of the 'problem' teams—specifically Kakashi’s Team 7 and Kaito and Anko’s Team 9. You report directly to me or Shikaku." Shikachin’s head hit the desk with a dull groan. "Kattari... so you want me to be the babysitter for the babysitters? That’s twice the work for half the fun." As the group prepared to head out, Kaito stopped at the door, his expression turning serious. "Wait, Hokage-sama. You told us the basics about Tashi, but you didn't say how you found him. Why does nobody in the village know he exists? He should have been in the Academy with Naruto and the others." Hiruzen leaned back, his eyes misting over with a brief memory. "I found Tashi two months ago during a diplomatic mission. He was living alone in a small cottage in a non-ninja village deep within the Land of Jungles. He had been surviving on his own instincts since the death of his foster grandfather." "Surviving is one thing," Kakashi noted, leaning against the wall. "But you said he has 'perfect' skills." "His grandfather taught him some basic fighting skills," Hiruzen explained. "Although those skills were far from basic. When we first approached him, Tashi felt threatened. He defeated three of my accompanying ANBU before I could even intervene." Kakashi let out a dry, sharp huff. "We left the ANBU and our old colleagues turned soft, huh? Getting their asses kicked by a twelve-year-old kid." "If an inexperienced twelve-year-old can do that," Shikachin added, his analytical mind already whirring, "I wonder what that grandfather was capable of. He must have had incredible experience to pass that on." "He is of the Senju bloodline, albeit a distant branch," Hiruzen continued. "I kept him under private tutelage these last two months rather than sending him to the Academy. In that short time, he mastered every basic requirement for graduation. If Tashi had started at the same age you did, Kakashi, he would have easily broken your record for the youngest Genin—at least in terms of raw skill." "So why the secrecy?" Kurenai asked. Hiruzen gave a weary, grandfatherly chuckle. "Two reasons. First, I feared if I put him in the Academy instantly, he would have entered an eating competition with Naruto and Chōji and literally eaten the entire village’s food supply in a week. Second... Tashi is innocent, but socially isolated. The only human he had ever seen was his grandfather." The Hokage’s eyes twinkled with amusement. "When he saw a young male ANBU, he was confused because the man didn't have white hair and a beard like his grandfather. But when a female ANBU approached him... Tashi didn't know what a 'girl' was. He thought she was a weird monster and attacked her." The room was silent for a heartbeat before a wave of suppressed snickering broke out. Even Kakashi’s shoulders were shaking. Shikachin let out a genuine laugh. "A monster, huh? Well, once he meets the Snake-lady and her miniature version Karin, Tashi is definitely going to think his first instinct was right." Anko didn't even get angry; she just grinned, tossing a dango stick into the trash. "The kid sounds cute for someone who beat three ANBU. I think I’m going to like this Team 9." Kaito looked at his hands, a mixture of pride and terror washing over him. He was the sensei of a team consisting of a literal "monster hunter," an emotionless Root assassin, and a girl who was basically a second Anko. "Alright, Team 9," Kaito muttered to himself, his easygoing smile returning with a hint of madness. **"Let's see what kind of madness you are capable of."** *** > One Week Later. Ninja Academy. Final Examinations Results The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the Academy training grounds. Naruto sat on the familiar wooden swing, the chain creaking a rhythmic, lonely sound. Nearby, Karin stood with her arms crossed, her vibrant red hair shimmering. She had failed the graduation exam on purpose—a secret Naruto had parsed through his own frustration. As the top student in theory, history, geography and chakra control, her failing was a mathematical impossibility. "Go away, Karin," Naruto muttered, his eyes fixed on the dirt. "You should’ve been a Genin. You shouldn't have thrown it away just because I’m a loser." "I won't become a ninja without you. I'm not leaving my brother behind, Naruto," she snapped, though her voice wavered with genuine care. Their somber moment was broken by Shikamaru, who strolled over with his hands in his pockets. "You're taking this too hard, Naruto. You aren't even the bottom of the barrel. You came in *second* to last with thirty-one marks." Naruto looked up, blinking. "Wait, what? Who could possibly be worse than me? I literally couldn't make a clone!" "That guy," Shikamaru pointed toward a massive oak tree. "Total score: thirty. He got a zero in History, Geography, and Theory. But," Shikamaru’s eyes sharpened, "his Taijutsu score was higher than Sasuke’s and Hinata’s. And his chakra control? The proctors said it was more precise than even Karin’s or Sakura’s. He just... didn't answer a single question on the paper." Karin, Sakura, Ino, Hinata, Choji and Kiba gathered around, stunned. "Higher than Sasuke?" Kiba barked. "No way!" Under the tree, a boy with messy brown hair was buried in a bowl of ramen three times the size of his head, eating with a ferocity that made Chōji look like a light snacker. Naruto walked over, bewildered. "Hey! You're the one who failed worse than me," Naruto said. "Why aren't you sad? Don't you care about the exam?" Tashi swallowed a massive gulp of noodles and looked up with bright, innocent blue eyes. "**A single piece of paper can't decide my future.** An opponent won't see that I know the theory. He'll see how hard I can punch. *Gattekite*!" "But you can't be a ninja without a headband!" Naruto cried. Tashi tilted his head. "Uhm… does it matter? The gramps with the white and red hat told me ninjas are strong and fight other ninjas. I agreed to the exam because I want to fight the strong. But **my goal is to continuously train and become the strongest. I can do that even without a piece of metal on my head.**" Tashi then pushed his half-finished bowl toward Naruto. "Here. You look strong and cool. I want to spar with you later." Naruto’s eyes welled with tears. No one—besides Karin—had ever called him "strong and cool" before. Karin and Hinata shared a small, knowing smile; Tashi had recognized Naruto’s latent potential instantly, seeing past the academic failures. *** High above on a nearby roof, four shadows watched the scene. "The kid has instincts like a wild animal," Kaito whispered, leaning against a chimney. "He didn't even look at Naruto's grades; he felt his spirit." "A second knucklehead," Anko chuckled. "Just what the village needs. Twice the chaos. I like it." *** Their smiles vanished as they saw Mizuki approach Naruto. The silver-haired chunin whispered something into the boy's ear and led him away, separate from the group. Tashi’s eyes twitched. He dropped his chopsticks, his playful demeanor vanishing. "That man," Tashi said, his voice dropping an octave. "He smells like a snake in the grass. Something is wrong." "Tashi, that’s Mizuki-sensei," Sakura said, trying to be reasonable. "He’s an Academy teacher. He’s a good guy." In the shadows of the roof, Shikachin’s hand moved to the hilt of his Nodachi. "Tashi's gut is spot on. Two days ago, I tracked a surge in Mizuki's chakra. It’s dark. Rancid. I did some digging... he’s been secretly following Orochimaru." Kaito and Anko stiffened, the name of their former sensei hitting like a physical blow. Anko’s hand flew to her Curse Mark, her face contorting in fury. "We move now. I'm gonna kill Mizu—" Kaito hissed, red sparks of chakra beginning to flicker around his palms. "Wait," Kakashi commanded, his lone eye focused. "If Orochimaru is truly involved, we need to see how deep this goes. We observe. We catch him red-handed. If we rush in, he might have traps set that we aren't ready for." Down below, Tashi wasn't waiting for permission. He looked at Shikamaru and the others. "Okay. If you think he's good, then do one thing. Follow Naruto. If he’s in trouble, come back and tell me. I’ll help in saving him if something bad happens." *** The air in the forest grew heavy as the group of students crouched behind the thick undergrowth, their hearts hammering against their ribs. From their hiding spot, they watched Mizuki lean in close to Naruto. His voice was a honeyed trap. "There’s a secret way, Naruto," Mizuki whispered. "The Scroll of Seals. If you can learn even one technique from it, the village will have no choice but to make you a Genin. And the best part? They’ll give Karin a second chance too. She won’t have to carry the burden of your failure anymore." Naruto’s eyes lit up with a desperate, fiery hope. Without a second thought, he vanished into the shadows, heading toward the Hokage’s residence. "The Scroll of Seals?" Sakura whispered, her brow furrowed. "I’ve never heard of that in our textbooks." "Whatever it is, Naruto is in over his head," Shikamaru muttered, his face pale. As they scrambled back toward the village to find someone—anyone—who could explain, they nearly ran into Yoshino Nara. "Mom!" Shikamaru called out, trying to sound casual despite his trembling hands. "Quick question... what exactly is the Scroll of Seals? Is it like a graduation prize?" Yoshino stopped, her expression instantly hardening into one of severe gravity. "Where did you hear that name? It’s a scroll of highly forbidden techniques. Some are so dangerous they can cause the death of the user if a normal person even tries them. Stealing it is an unforgettable crime, punishable by the highest order." The group froze. The "sweet" Mizuki-sensei hadn't given Naruto a secret tip; he had handed him a death warrant. "He’s setting Naruto up," Shikamaru realized, his teeth grit. "He’s going to let Naruto take the fall for the theft, then kill him and take the scroll for himself." Karin’s chakra flared, her face contorting in a mask of Uzumaki fury that made Kiba’s dog, Akamaru, whimper and hide in his jacket. "That bastard... he’s using my brother!" *** > At the Hokage’s Vault High above on the ceramic tiles of the administrative building, Kakashi, Anko, Kaito, and Shikachin watched the scene unfold below. They were crouched in total silence, ready to intercept, until they noticed a familiar chakra signature already present. Hiruzen Sarutobi was standing in the shadows of the hallway, watching with a calm, almost knowing smile as Naruto tripped over his own feet, snuck past the "elite" guards (who seemed conveniently distracted), and lugged the massive scroll out the window. "The Old Man is letting him take it," Kaito whispered, his blue-flame chakra subsiding. "He's testing the boy," Shikachin noted, his eyes narrowed. "Or he's using the boy as bait to draw out the snake. Either way, we stay hidden. If the Hokage is playing this hand, we don't interfere until the poison shows itself." Anko’s knuckles were white as she gripped her kunai. "If Mizuki so much as touches a hair on that kid’s head, I’m skinning him alive." *** > Back at the Academy Grounds Tashi was still sitting under the tree, though the ramen bowl was now empty and stacked neatly to the side. He didn't look surprised when the group burst through the bushes, panting and frantic. "You were right!" Sakura gasped, clutching her chest. "Mizuki... he told Naruto to steal a forbidden scroll! It’s a crime!" "He’s going to get Naruto killed!" Hinata squeaked, her hands clasped over her heart in terror. Karin grabbed Tashi by the front of his shirt, her eyes wild. "Tashi! You said you’d help! They’re headed for the forest shack near the northern woods. We have to get there before that snake-man does!" Tashi stood up slowly, his messy brown hair casting a shadow over his eyes. The innocent, hungry kid was gone; in his place stood a boy who radiated a calm, terrifying pressure. "I told you," Tashi said quietly. "A man who smells like that doesn't care about rules or scrolls. He only cares about the kill." He looked at the group, then toward the northern woods. "Don't worry. I promised I'd help." He cracked his neck, and for a split second, the air around him vibrated with the sheer intensity of his chakra control. "I don't need a plan to beat a liar," Tashi stated, his voice echoing with Kaito’s trademark madness. "Gattekite. Let’s go save your brother." *** The forest was suffocatingly silent as Iruka stood between Naruto and the shadow of Mizuki. The rest of the group—Karin, Tashi, Shikamaru, and the others—watched from the treeline, their breath catching as Iruka confronted his colleague. "Naruto! Give me the scroll, quick!" Iruka gasped, blood trickling from a wound on his leg. Before Naruto could move, Tashi stepped into the clearing, his eyes locked on Mizuki. "Iruka-san, don't trust him. He told Naruto to steal that. He’s the one who smells like a snake." Iruka froze, looking at Mizuki with pure horror as the realization sank in. Mizuki didn't even try to hide it anymore. He let out a chilling laugh that echoed through the damp woods. "Naruto," Mizuki began, his voice dripping with malice. "Do you want to know the real reason the village hates you? Why Karin is treated like an outcast just for being your sister? Why Iruka here has always secretly held a grudge against you?" "Mizuki, shut up! It’s a forbidden decree!" Iruka screamed, desperate to protect the boy’s heart. "Karin was hated because of you, Naruto! Everything is your fault!" Mizuki shouted. "Because twelve years ago, the Nine-Tails Fox attacked this village and killed everyone, including Iruka's parents. And that monster... is you! A brat like you will never be appreciated or allowed to become Hokage!" The revelation hit like a physical blow. The air seemed to vanish. Naruto stood paralyzed, his pupils shrinking to pinpricks as his world shattered. The group in the bushes—Sakura, Ino, Kiba—stared at Naruto in absolute terror. The "monster" was standing right in front of them. "Die, Naruto!" Mizuki roared, hurling a massive shuriken. Naruto didn't move. He couldn't. But a shadow blurred past him. Thwack. Iruka took the hit, the giant blade buried in his back as he shielded Naruto. Blood sprayed across the grass. "Naruto... get out of here..." Iruka coughed, using the last of his strength to push the boy toward Karin and Tashi. "Take him! Run!" Tashi and Karin grabbed a limp, catatonic Naruto and dragged him into the cover of the trees. Naruto had lost his senses, his mind trapped in a loop of Mizuki’s words. *‘I killed them. I killed Iruka’s parents. I’m the reason Karin is hated too.’* A few hundred yards away, they stopped. Naruto collapsed, clutching his head and sobbing. "He was right... I’m a monster... Iruka-sensei is going to die because of me..." Tashi stepped in front of him, blocking his view of the ground. He didn't look scared. He looked annoyed. "Naruto! Listen to me!" Tashi’s voice cracked like a whip. "I don't know what happened twelve years ago in this village. But **if you didn't know any of this until now, then you weren't responsible for it! But if you stay here crying while your teacher dies... then you will be responsible for what happens next.**" Tashi tightened his fist, a faint hum of chakra vibrating the air around him. "I am going to help Iruka-san. You can come if you want. Gattekite." Naruto looked up. The hollow look in his eyes was replaced by a flicker of blue fire. He wiped his face, his teeth bared in a snarl of determination. Without a word, he turned and sprinted back toward the clearing at a speed that blurred his orange jumpsuit. "Wait for me!" Karin yelled, her own fear replaced by the need to protect her brother. Shikamaru, Kiba, and even a trembling Sakura and Ino looked at each other. "They’re going to get themselves killed," Kiba muttered, but he started running too. "But we can't let them go alone!" *** > The Hokage's Office In the crystal sphere, Hiruzen watched the scene with a profound sense of relief. Beside him, Kaito, Anko, Shikachin, Asuma, Kurenai, and Kakashi stood in stunned silence. "Look at them," Kaito whispered, a proud smirk forming on his face. "Tashi didn't even blink when he heard about the Fox. He just focused on the soul of the kid in front of him." "Even Sakura and Ino are following," Kurenai noted softly. "The very children who used to turn their backs on Naruto are now running toward a B-rank threat to save him." Shikachin leaned against the wall, crossing his arms. "That Tashi kid... he’s the catalyst. He doesn't care about the past or the village's 'monster.' He only cares about the fight in front of him. That’s the kind of madness Konoha needs." Kakashi narrowed his eye, watching Naruto’s retreating back. "The boy is learning. And Mizuki is about to find out exactly what happens when you corner a fox... and his friends." *** The clearing erupted into a symphony of chaos. While Naruto stood protectively over a bleeding Iruka, the rest of the Genin-hopefuls found themselves surrounded by Mizuki’s reinforcements—a group of rogue Chunin and mercenaries hired to ensure the Scroll of Seals left the village. Sakura and Iruka were pinned down by a pair of masked attackers. Seeing her brother's teacher in danger, Karin felt a searing heat ignite at the base of her spine. Her vision turned crimson as she screamed, "Get away from them!" Suddenly, four thick, glowing chains of pure crimson chakra burst from her back. They moved with a predatory life of their own, lashing out and binding the attackers with such force that the ground beneath them shattered. *** Back in the Hokage's office, the atmosphere turned electric. "Those are... the **Adamantine Sealing Chains**," Hiruzen whispered, his pipe nearly falling from his mouth. "The signature sealing jutsu of the Uzumaki royalty," Shikachin added, his usual lazy demeanor replaced by sharp intensity. "She hasn't even been trained, yet she manifested them through raw emotion." Kaito gripped the edge of the desk. "My student is a literal powerhouse... and she doesn't even know it yet." *** Meanwhile, the largest of the mercenaries let out a guttural roar, downing a vial of dark, swirling liquid. His muscles surged, fur sprouted from his skin, and his face elongated into a terrifying Humanoid Tiger. "I'll crush you all!" the beast roared. He lunged at Ino, his fist obliterating a massive boulder she had just dived behind. Shards of stone flew like shrapnel. The Tiger turned his sights on Tashi. "Die, brat!" He unleashed a haymaker that carried enough force to level a building. Tashi didn't dodge. He stepped forward, his small fist meeting the massive, furred hand of the Tiger. *CRACK*. The shockwave blew the grass flat for ten meters in every direction, but Tashi didn't budge. "What? My strongest attack... stopped by a kid?" the Tiger gasped. Tashi looked up, his expression eerily calm. "It’s a special technique my grandpa taught me. I can nullify the impact of any punch by meeting it with a punch of the same amount of chakra, used at the same angle and speed. It’s simple math." The group stared in disbelief. For a boy who failed the written academy test, that was the most technical thing they had ever heard him say. The Tiger roared in frustration, swinging a flurry of strikes. Tashi flowed through them like water, parrying every blow with a localized "nullification" pop. In a blur of speed, Tashi dropped low, placing one palm on the ground for balance while his entire body spun into the air. **"Gravity Shatter!"** Tashi yelled, his heel connecting with the Tiger’s spine with the force of a falling meteor. The Tiger slammed into the dirt, the transformation reversing instantly as the bones in his back gave way. The man shriveled into a skeletal, sickly form. "That liquid," Anko hissed from the Hokage's office, her eyes narrowing. "It’s a crude derivative of a Curse Mark prototype. It burns the life force for a temporary boost." *** Mizuki, seeing his men defeated and his prize slipping away, turned his fury on Naruto. "You're still just a monster, Naruto! You can't change what you are!" Naruto looked at his friends—Karin with her glowing chains, Tashi standing over the fallen Tiger, and the others who had risked their lives to stay behind him. He felt the massive reservoir of chakra within him finally find a vent. "If being a monster means protecting my friends," Naruto growled, crossing his fingers into the seal of the cross. **"Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu!"** *POOF.* *POOF.* *POOF.* The forest didn't just fill with smoke; it vanished behind a sea of orange. Hundreds—no, **thousands**—of Narutos appeared, covering every branch, every rock, and every inch of the clearing. Mizuki’s jaw hit the floor. The same boy who couldn't produce a single, measly illusionary clone an hour ago had just summoned an army of solid, physical entities. "Gattekite, Mizuki-sensei," the thousand Narutos said in unison, their voices a deafening roar. "Let's see how you handle a thousand monsters."
