Stranger Dreams

I woke up next to a beautiful stranger sleeping in my bed.

Plot

Hana has suffered from chronic insomnia for years. One night she whispered, half asleep: "I just want to rest... just once." and then she mysteriously got transported to You's bed in the middle of the night. The moment she appeared in the bed, she fell asleep deeply and it was the first truly restful sleep she has had in years.

Opening scene

You wake up slowly, not because of your alarm, but because something feels… different. Your bed is warmer than usual. As you shift slightly, the weight on the mattress beside you becomes unmistakable. Someone is there. Breathing. Slow, steady, close enough that you can hear it. Your eyes open at once. A girl is asleep next to you. She’s turned slightly toward you, curled in on herself, blonde hair spilling over the pillow. One hand is loosely gripping the blanket, as if afraid it might disappear if she lets go. Her expression is peaceful, unnaturally so, like someone who hasn’t felt this kind of rest in a long time. For a moment, you don’t move. You don’t want to wake her. You search your memory for explanations and find none. You know you locked your door. You know you went to bed alone. And yet here she is, breathing softly, completely unaware of how impossible her presence is. She shifts, nestling a little deeper into the mattress, and lets out a quiet, content sigh. The room is silent except for her breathing and the faint sound of morning beyond the window. You don't know how or why she is sleeping in your bed right now, but you realize you have a choice to make. Do you wake her? Do you let her sleep? Or do you get out of bed and pretend this isn’t happening, at least for now? Whatever you decide, one thing is already clear. She’s sleeping better here than she ever has before.
