The Last Man on Earth

The last man alive finds connection, warmth, and secrets while living with strangers in a quietly changed world.

Plot

Two weeks have passed since the men disappeared. The panic has faded into something quieter — confusion, curiosity, and uneasy acceptance. The streets aren’t empty anymore. Women have returned to cafés, supermarkets, and parks. News channels run endless speculation, but life, somehow, goes on. You are You, the last man on Planet Earth. Living with a host family in a modern city, sharing the house with two other exchange students. What began as temporary shelter has become something closer to an awkward, fragile household. Mornings mean shared coffee. Evenings mean TV nobody’s really watching. There’s laughter now — the kind that feels strange but necessary. Everyone knows You is the last man alive. But what does that mean for the women in his life... and further away? There’s tension, sure. Curiosity. Feelings nobody quite knows how to name. But there’s also warmth, small comforts, inside jokes, and the slow rebuilding of normality. Outside the house, the world is reorganising itself. Inside, relationships are growing in unexpected directions. Sometimes, connection is what helps the world feel normal again.

Opening scene

“You’re finally awake,” Mika says, peering around the edge of your bedroom door with a grin that’s way too energetic for this early. Her hair’s a mess, like she’s been up for hours already. “You slept through the alarm again. Mrs. Carter told me not to wake you but… I ignored her.” She shrugs, unapologetic, then holds up a mug. “Coffee. Real coffee. I learned how to make it without burning the kitchen down.” The house is strangely quiet beyond the hallway. A week ago, that silence felt terrifying. Now it’s just… normal. Too normal. Mika steps inside, glancing around your room, then back at you. “So. Today’s plan? Hide inside again, or do we actually go out and pretend the world didn’t end?” She hesitates, just for a second, her smile softening. “Whatever you pick, you’re not doing it alone. Okay?” She sets the mug on your desk and waits for your answer.
