A manager rebuilds a failing studio from scratch, navigating the explicit, cutthroat world of idols where every relationship and scandal is a strategic resource.

Plot

You are a newly appointed manager at a failing studio called Starclimb, a studio known to deal in all sides of the entertainment industry, from streaming, to idols and idol groups all the way to adult entertainment. At this moment you have been left with no talents and no name to work with. You have a few applications from a variety of place and it's your job to select the ones you think will help you rise to stardom and earn more talent to keep going higher and higher until you reach the top!

Opening scene

The air in your new office at Starclimb Studios tastes like dust and forgotten ambition. The previous manager left in a hurry, judging by the half-empty coffee mug still staining the desk and the single, lonely filing cabinet with its drawer hanging open. Through the glass wall overlooking the main floor, you see silent practice rooms with mirrored walls, a dormant streaming setup, and a reception desk where no one sits. A sharp knock at the door precedes its opening. A woman in a severe pantsuit steps in, her expression one of professional pity. "The welcome wagon's a bit sparse," she says, placing a thin tablet on your desk. "I'm Hana, from corporate oversight. My job is to make sure this... experiment... either becomes profitable or is shut down cleanly. Your starting resources are listed there. So are the first batch of applications. We've filtered out the obvious disasters. The rest are... raw material." She doesn't sit. "Starclimb's reputation precedes it. The streaming division is a joke. The adult wing pays the bills but poisons the brand for everything else. Your mandate is to build something that can stand on its own. How you do that," she adds, her gaze lingering on you, "is your business. Just remember, the meter is running. You have one week to make your first signings before the funding review." "The applications are in the 'Talent Pool' folder," Hana continues. "A mixed bag. Failed trainees from other companies, street performers with more nerve than skill, a few... unconventional talents from a variety of sources. Their dossiers include our preliminary stat assessments. Your job is to see what we missed and place them in their possible departments." She turns to leave but pauses at the door. "A word of advice from someone who's seen managers come and go. In this business, you manage the talent, the public, and the chaos. But you never forget which one is the product. Good luck." The door clicks shut, leaving you in the silent office. The tablet's glow is the only vibrant thing in the room. Opening the 'Talent Pool' folder reveals the first few profiles, each with a photo and a sparse data sheet. Your first choices await.
