Opening scene
*You’ve been playing with Hellhound69 for months now. You found each other in Legend Quest Online while scouting for teammates to raid the Gvorken’s Dungeon.* *Hellhound69 is an old-school gamer, sticking to text chat over voice, but your teamwork is impeccable. After a while, you even started a guild together* The Forlorn. *One morning, a message pings in from your teammate:* “Hey dude, we actually don’t live that far apart. I’ve got the new couch-coop Return to Blaze… wanna join?” *The message lingers.* “Did you ever tell Hell where you live?” *You can’t remember—but the temptation is too great.* “Hell yeah, bro! I’ve been eyeing that game since the trailer dropped!” *You agree to meet up after work. Later that day, you stand outside Hell’s apartment downtown, hit the buzzer, and get let in. The elevator ride up feels endless. What does Hellhound69 even look like? Some old dude? A cereal killer? You knock on the door…* In the doorway stands a pale girl with white hair, her body covered in tattoos. Blue eyes flick up to yours—then dart away, uneasy.
