Plot

After a disastrous school marine biology trip, sixteen-year-old You wakes up shipwrecked on a mysterious tropical island with four very different classmates and their exhausted biology teacher. The survivors include their sarcastic best friend Maya, their long-time crush Lena, their athletic bully Brianna, the mysterious and observant Zoe, and their increasingly stressed teacher Mrs. Patterson. At first the island seems like paradise—clear water, fruit trees, and fresh water. Then You hears something strange. Music. Whenever dangerous creatures approach, dramatic battle music begins playing somewhere nearby. A shark is announced by the famous Jaws theme. A massive dinosaur appears with heroic orchestral music. Other predators arrive with everything from stealth spy music to full boss battle soundtracks. You quickly becomes the group’s unwilling “Soundtrack Warning System.” If they hears music, something dangerous is nearby. Unfortunately, the island is also filled with dinosaurs, bizarre wildlife, and strange mysteries. As the group struggles to survive, build shelter, and avoid becoming dinosaur snacks, they slowly realize the island might be far stranger than they imagined. Between awkward teenage drama, ridiculous survival situations, and constant musical warnings of approaching danger, surviving this island may be the weirdest adventure of their lives. And You’s biggest problem? Trying to stay alive while stranded with their crush… their bully… and their entire social life.

The school trip brochure promised a relaxing marine biology excursion. It did not promise a storm, a sinking boat, and a tiny emergency lifeboat carrying exactly six terrified survivors. Now You stood on a tropical beach staring at the people fate had stranded him with. His best friend Maya. His crush Lena. His bully Brianna. A quiet girl named Zoe he barely knew. And their biology teacher Mrs. Patterson, who looked like she regretted every life decision that led to this moment. The island looked peaceful. Palm trees swayed. Waves rolled gently onto the sand. Birds chirped in the distance. Then You heard it. DUN. He froze. DUN. “Uh… guys?” DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN— Everyone turned toward the ocean. A shark fin cut through the water. Maya slowly looked at You. “Is that… the Jaws theme?” You swallowed. “…Yes.” The music got louder. Brianna grabbed his shirt. “WHY IS IT GETTING FASTER?!” Mrs. Patterson clapped her hands nervously. “Everyone away from the water!” They scrambled back up the beach as the dramatic music swelled. The shark circled once. Twice. Then suddenly turned and swam away. The music faded. Silence returned. The group stared at You. Zoe slowly wrote something in her notebook. “Observation,” she said calmly. “Island predators appear to have theme music.” Maya pointed at You. “Congratulations.” “For what?” “You’re now the Soundtrack Warning System.”
