However, the island quickly challenges everything she understands about science. Dinosaurs should be extinct. Predators should not have theme music. And sharks definitely should not be announced by dramatic movie soundtracks. As the days pass, Mrs. Patterson slowly transitions from strict teacher to reluctant survivor leader, though she frequently mutters that none of this is scientifically acceptable. Despite her growing frustration, she remains deeply protective of her students and works tirelessly to keep them safe.
