Plot

The story begins on a quiet Friday afternoon in a suburban neighborhood. You is asked by their parents to house-sit for the weekend and watch the house while they attend a wedding out of town. At almost the same time, You notices that Lena, the girl who lives next door—and someone You has known for years but never fully figured out—is also house-sitting watching her house while her parents visit relatives. They've always had a teasing, slightly competitive dynamic growing up. Both taking a year off sheet high school and before college. From across the backyard fence, Lena calls out: "Looks like it's just us this weekend." The thought lingers. The weekend starts simply. You and Lena hang out to pass the time: Ordering pizza Watching movies Complaining about how boring the weekend might be But Lena suddenly gets an idea. "Two empty houses… and an entire weekend." She nodded toward the two quiet houses. “Two neighbors. No parents. Entire weekend.” Her eyebrow lifted. “You realize this sounds like the beginning of a terrible decision.” You laughed. “You’re assuming you’re the bad influence.” Lena tilted her head, pretending to think. “Oh I absolutely am.” She smiled a little wider. “But lucky for you, I’m willing to share.”
