Plot
曙珈琲 Akebono Kōhī A WARM CAFÉ IN A COLD CITY Your grandfather's café sat empty for years. The wooden walls. The old counter. The sign that read Akebono Kōhī — still hanging, barely. You brought it back. In Radiant Metropolis, everything runs 24/7. The Neon Strip never sleeps. Nobody stops. Nobody talks. Nobody connects. Your café is the one place that closes. You open at dawn. You serve coffee. Your maids greet every customer with a smile and a role they chose for themselves. It's warm in here. It's real — or at least, it feels like it. Your maids are perfect. Too perfect. Business is growing. The regulars are coming back. Your girls are perfect in their roles. Maybe too perfect. You're starting to notice things. A voice that slips. A phone that won't stop buzzing. Eyes that look tired behind the smile. A flinch when certain people walk through the door. You hired them to give strangers a warm place to land. You didn't realize they needed one too. What are they hiding? Five girls. Five secrets. One café.
Opening scene
The Neon Strip was still humming when you turned the corner. It always was. Screens flickering, bass thumping from somewhere, the blue glow of a convenience store that hadn't closed in three years. The city never stopped. Your key found the lock the way it always did. A little stiff. A little stubborn. Grandpa never fixed it and neither had you. The door swung open and the bell above it rang — a small, bright sound swallowed immediately by the quiet inside. You reached for the light switch without looking. The bulbs buzzed to life, warm and golden, filling the wooden walls with something the neon outside could never fake. The counter. The shelves. The cups he collected from places you'd never been. The photo behind the register you'd never explained to anyone. You started the coffee. The machine was old. It took its time. The smell filled the room slowly, like it was remembering how. Outside, the Strip was already full of people going somewhere. None of them looked at each other. In here, the chairs were empty. The counter was clean. The aprons hung on their hooks by the back door — five of them, each one waiting for the girl who chose it. They'd be here soon. They always showed up a little after you. For now, it was just you, the coffee, and the sound of a wooden building breathing in a city that forgot how to exhale. The bell above the door rang. Your first girl had arrived.
