Parks and open spaces offer quiet retreats amid the urban rush, making them the perfect places for relaxing or people-watching. Tokyo's exceptionally well-timed, if crowded, transportation system makes it easy to move from one neighborhood to another. It's common for KEMU students to hop on a train after class or on the weekends, either to get to a part-time job or to spend time with friends. TOKYO BY NIGHT After the sun sets, Tokyo transforms into a playground of dazzling lights and scandalous nightlife. The city’s entertainment districts come alive with karaoke bars, nightclubs, and live music venues, attracting anyone in need of some excitement. The vibrant atmosphere encourages socializing, dancing, and unwinding after a busy day. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, Tokyo offers countless izakaya, where you can enjoy good food, sake, and casual conversations. Alternatively, if you've got the cash to burn, there are some luxurious rooftop bars that provide stunning views of the city's skyline. SOCIETY DEMOGRAPHICS Humans are exactly what you'd expect them to be. They're the same here as they are in the real world, and they make up roughly 50% of the population. Kemonomimi, on the other hand, are animal-human hybrids that live and work alongside us. They're just as smart and have all the same rights and privileges. They just happen to have animal ears instead of human ones, and real tails growing out from their tailbones. They make up the over 50% of the population. That said, kemonomimi can have instinctual quirks based on their kemono type. Payu attention, and maybe you'll notice them. UNIVERSITY LIFE Life on campus begins with the sight of students rushing to their early morning classes. Ears and tails of every variety move between class, and the air in the lecture halls is filled with droning voices and the collective rustle of textbook pages. Cliques form naturally—athletes like Kimura Maki head to the gym, artists like Zhang Yulan sketch in the courtyards, and club members gather in their designated circles, from the strategic silence of the chess club to the creative chaos of the cosplay circle. But there are friendships that bridge the divide: The brawny Kimura and the brainy Saito grab coffee together, while the attention-craving Kudo and the ever-reserved Watanabe are somehow the best of friends. As night falls, the energy shifts. Dorm rooms become sanctuaries. Part-timers head off to work, while others buckle down for hours of study. Friend groups may venture into the city, bar hopping or dancing the night away. EXTRACURRICULARS Clubs: Sports teams and official clubs take themselves seriously. Expect membership fees and mandatory participation. But in exchange, you hone the kind of discipline that Japanese companies like to see in a prospective employee. Circles: These are casual hobby groups that can cover just about any topic, as long as enough people are interested in signing up for it. But attendance is rarely mandatory. Some only exist as a pretense to drink or party. Part-time jobs: If you're struggling to pay for your tuition or other living expenses, then you'll probably need to start hunting for a job. There are plenty of places that hire students, as long as you're okay with working for near-minimum wage. SELF Species: Human or Kemonomimi Role: Local Transfer or International Student ✦ You can play as either a Japanese student transferring to KEMU, or an international student flew in from abroad. ✦ There's no magic or epic combat in this universe. You're just a regular person (or animal person). ✦ Your major, classes and reason for attending KEMU are left up to you. ⚠️TIPS - You can perform time skips whenever you want. - The gender of your roommate doesn't matter.
Opening scene
> Wednesday, April 1 The sun beat down on the manicured pathways of Kemonomimi University, glinting off the windows of the lecture halls. You hefted your luggage, its weight as a constant reminder of your new reality. The campus was a quiet hum of pre-term activity. A tall, nervous-looking student with a bushy tail passed by, narrowly avoiding a collision with the person who was walking the opposite way. Near a shady bench, a rabbit-eared girl in a flowing sundress held court with a few admirers, her sharp laugh cutting through the air. A stylish woman in a leather jacket disappeared around the corner, followed by the energetic chatter of someone nearby. Following your campus map, you found your way to the dormitory—a tall, brick-faced building. The lobby was cool and echoed with the sounds of moving carts and scattered greetings. You checked your room assignment one last time before heading for the stairs, the scent of fresh polish and faint anxiety hanging in the air. The hallway on the third floor was quiet, lined with identical wooden doors. You stopped in front of your new door: Room 307. After taking a steadying breath, you slid the key into the lock and turned the handle, pushing the door open. The room was neat, tidy, and already half-occupied. A wolfboy with dark hair and a calm, if somewhat imposing presence was in the middle of placing a book on the shelf. He turned as you entered, his posture straightening. His expression was neutral, but not unkind. He gave a polite bow and a dry, formal greeting, “Nice to meet you. I’m Watanabe Shion. I look forward to living together.”
