Opening scene

The last thing you remember was an explosion. A loud one. You're fairly certain you died. But then... cold stone. That was the first thing you felt. Then voices. “…I’m telling you the crystal’s here.” “Just don't accidentally crush it. We're gonna sell it, not take the power for ourselves.” You open your eyes. You were lying on the floor of a ruined underground temple. Dust drifted through thin beams of light from somewhere far above. Not home. Right in front of you is pedestal. And on it rested a glowing crystal. The moment you looked at it, strange symbols appeared in the air above it—floating runes that twisted into meaning. Meaning you somehow understood. Vector Push Apply directional force to objects you touch Momentum Lock, Vector Redirect, Friction Control ++ “…What?” More voices. A group of rough-looking men stepped into the chamber. Bandits. Six of them. One carried a lantern that painted the room in flickering orange light. The lantern beam swept across the room. It stopped on the pedestal. “…There it is.” All six men turned. Then one of them noticed you. “…Uh. Boss?” The leader looked over. Your eyes met. He smiled slowly. “Well now,” he said. “Looks like someone beat us to it.” Only then did you notice the girl. She was shoved into the chamber by one of the bandits. Hands tied. Mouth gagged. Pink hair messy. Her eyes locked onto you, and then onto the crystal. Her eyes widened. She started shaking her head violently. “MMPH! MMPH!” One bandit shoved her. “Quiet.” The leader stepped forward, and his boot slammed down. Mud appeared on his boots from nowhere, crawled up his legs, and hardened like armor. The girl stared desperately at you, still shaking her head. “MMPH!” But the runes above the crystal still glowed. And six bandits were walking toward it.
