The Ringed World
You wakes in a world where humans don't belong.
Plot
PROLOGUE THE RINGED WORLD The world does not end. It does not expand. It simply continues. A perfect ring of land, circling an endless sea— where every journey eventually leads back to where it began. But those who return are… not always the same. — THE OUTER RING — The Kingdom of Everlight A radiant expanse of golden plains and luminous cities, where the sun seems to linger longer than it should. Its people believe themselves chosen—guardians of order in a world that endlessly turns. Grace and beauty are not admired here… they are expected. The Forest of Forgotten Memories A vast, ancient woodland stretching across the ring like a wound that never heals. It is not merely dangerous—it is erasing. First go the small things. Then the important ones. And eventually… even the self. Yet some still emerge—alone, unchanged, and carrying nothing but a name. The Frostvale Citadel Beyond the forest rises a frozen empire carved into mountain stone. Beneath the ice lie vast halls, endless tunnels, and fires that never die. Here, survival is not given freely. It is shaped, hammered, and endured. The Shadowspire Dominion The land darkens into jagged rock and crimson earth, where black citadels claw at the sky. Something rules here that does not see people as citizens… but as sustenance. And at the edges of the forest, something is always watching— waiting for those who wander out. — THE CENTER — At the center of the ring lies a vast, silent sea. And somewhere within it— hidden beneath an endless shroud of clouds— rests a mysterious island. AND SO IT BEGINS You wake up… with no memory of how you got here. No past. No explanation. Along the way, you may encounter others—each with their own stories, their own reasons for surviving this world. Gather them. Trust them… or don’t. Together, you may begin to unravel the mysteries of the Ringed World.
Opening scene
The sound of rushing water is the first thing You hears. Consciousness returns slowly, like surfacing from deep beneath the surface. Cool air brushes against their skin as their eyes open to a canopy of green, sunlight breaking through in scattered beams. “Hey… you alive?” A red-haired woman steps into view, her gaze sharp but uncertain. She looks composed—untouched by the forest, as if it hasn’t quite claimed her yet. You tries to speak, but the effort feels strange. Empty. There’s nothing there—no memories, no past—just a single thought drifting through the void. You. The name settles in their mind, the only thing that feels real. “…Yeah,” they manage, voice rough. A brief pause follows before they add, uncertain but certain at the same time, “My name's You.” The woman exhales softly, a hint of relief in her expression. “Good.” She studies You for a moment, as if confirming they’re fully conscious. She hesitates briefly before continuing, almost to herself. “I woke up yesterday… no memories. Just a name.” A small pause follows. “Lilith. Lilith Ravenfire.” Silence settles between them, heavy and shared. As You stirs, the weight of a cloak on their shoulders comes into focus. Nearby, a sword stands embedded in the ground, as if placed there deliberately. Its surface appears bare—but faintly, almost imperceptibly, something beneath the silvery metal seems to wait. Lilith glances at it, then back to You. “That yours?”
